How's Foresight easier to distinguish from Divination?

Toccata has the essence of it. Foresight gives you hints on the maybe and the soon with spells like truestrike and prophecy. Divination gives you the knowledge of the the now and the back then.

And what happened to Mutation?  That sounded like all kinds of fun evil.  Smiley

The definitve enchanter spells Lvestock I and Livestock II (poof- you're a sheep) folded into nature so the enchanter still has them. Some others went to nature while the rest migrated to either the Summoner's boons or the Trickster's shapeshifting. It ends up a much stronger thematic structure. The Seer lost a few spells with Foresight becoming a seperate subschool from divination, but frankly Gandalf had power to burn Grin.

Would I be right in thinking that the teleportation spells (mainly interested in Plane Shift) are going to be found in the Compass subschool?

With Haste, Slow, Enlarge Person, Teleport, and Plane Shift all falling into the compass subschool (mastery over time and spaaaaaaace!) you can see it's gonna be a fun school and part of a nifty class (the Conjuror).

Thanks. Just trying to get an idea as I get some of the spells from Spell Compendium ready for the Spellbound releases. That and one of my players is an avid Planescape nut, so I'm trying to get some planar goodness ready for him.

RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE, AND PROTECT MY SPELLCASTER!

*ahem*

As an interesting note to the concepts behind each of the magic schools, has anybody considered the notion of the Abjurer as being more of a defensive agressor?  For further reference, I suggest such video games as TRAPT for source material (I mean, other than the fact that the game itself sucked), and consider that this is the kind of thing an aggressive Abjurer could do.  I mean, am I the only one who considered the notion of Abjurer-as-Trap-Weaver?

I always liked Abjurer-as-Lockdown-artist.  I'm an abjurer, and now none of your magic will work.  See this barbarian next to me with the Adamantine greataxe?  Let the pwning begin.  Thank you.

Abjuration magic goes to the Preserver, who is pretty much the only caster I see going into a straight up fight with channelers on an even footing. They also pack a high BAB and class abilities that make them vicious in melee.

So, which class best replicates the Transmutation and Abjuration focused Fighter/Mage of yore?

Seers play that way too, and they have an awful fondness for mechanical gee-gaws... like sub-machineguns Cheesy.
