Greetings agents,

Despite what you may have heard, all our Fantasy Craft titles are still in stock at Studio 2 and available to distributors and retailers worldwide.

If your FLGS claims that any of our books are ďout of stock,Ē or that their distributor says the books are ďout of stock,Ē then hereís what you should doÖ

First: Send us an email with the name, address, and contact info for your FLGS. If possible, include the name of the storeís buyer or owner.

Second: Point your FLGS (preferably the buyer or owner) at our Retailer/Distributor page and ask them to contact Jim Searcy at Studio 2 (contact information is available at that page). Jim will be happy to take their order directly or facilitate the order through the retailer's favored distributor.

Third: Ask the retailer what product code and/or ISBN they're using to order the product(s). They may be using the (out of print) Mongoose product code instead of ours. The following are the only product codes and ISBNs anyone should be using to order our books.

Fantasy Craft Second Printing
Crafty Games Product Number: CFG1001
ISBN: 978-0-9826843-0-6

Adventure Companion
Crafty Games Product Number: CFG1002
ISBN: 978-0-9826843-1-3

Time of High Adventure
Crafty Games Product Number: CFG1003
ISBN: 978-0-9826843-7-5

If your retailer or their distributor still has Mongoose's First Printing on their shelves, direct them to Jim Searcy at Studio 2. We've recently set up a new program to assist these retailers and distributors in clearing their shelves of outdated product.

Thank you for your efforts to help spread the word about our products. Without you, we wouldn't be able to continue producing awesome games like Fantasy Craft and Spycraft, and you have our eternal gratitude. In order to keep producing these games, we have to straighten out these errant issues, and you're our very best resource to do that.

Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to drop us a line.

Our thanks,

Alex and Pat

Alliance (largest game distributor in the US) has restocked on Fantasy Craft this week, so your FLGS should have no problem getting the 2nd printing back in stock if they are currently out . My shelves are finally full of them for the first time in over a month.

Barnes & Noble says that he second printing and ToNA are out of print. I don't think I can sway that chain. Going to try, anyway. There's a local chain that also says they're out of print, will be stopping by there shortly to chat with them. Is Adventure Companion out yet? The Crafty products page says that it's coming soon to print.

UPDATE: The local chain currently used a big faceless distributor, but they're getting their own buying department in June/July. I'll check back with them then. They have 5 stores in the Grand Rapids and Lansing areas of west Michigan.

B&N...no luck. You guys may already be working on them but, if not, the manager suggested that you or the publisher contact their sci-fi buyer at the home Office in NY.

Also stopped by Riders Hobby Shop, another regional chain. They already have a connection to Studio 2 through their distributor but Fantasycraft products aren't listed. The games manager wasn't in but I left him a message.

Whoops! The link was live on the front page but not on the product page. I've corrected that.

That's very strange. I used to work at B&N and they pull directly from the ISBN database, otherwise known as "Books in Print" (or at least they did, back in the day). Having personally updated our entries in that database not long ago, I can say with some certainty that they're correct.

...

Just checked again and Second Printing has been updated in Books in Print, so that should definitely be showing up. Which ISBN are you using?

There's some holdup in processing the information for the Adventure Companion and Time of High Adventure, but the database doesn't tell me anything other than that they're in the pipe. I'll shoot them an email and see what's up.

That's definitely wrong. Studio 2 has all three books in stock and any store that is looking directly at the Studio 2 site can see that...

The same ISBNs that are listed here in the thread and in the site catalog. I brought along my first printing to show them what ISBN NOT to use, and they confirmed that it's the old one. The others were released in late 2010. Whatever it said, the manager interpreted it as out of print and not available to order.

Regarding Studio 2, the FC items aren't available in the catalog that the guy at the games counter looked at. He said that they have other items from Studio 2 so they should be able to get FC easily enough.

Odd. I just heard from Bowker and they're going to manually update the AC and ToHA. I'll drop by my local B&N and Borders after that and ask to see what they're seeing on Books in Print. (Anyone can do this BTW, and you should, as a) first-person confirmation is extremely helpful in these cases, and b) it potentially identifies one possible roadblock - that the store or employee simply doesn't want to go through the hassle of a special order.

Was it a physical catalog or an online source?

Thanks again for your assistance!

We're more than happy for folks to get their books however they can. That sad, it's important to note that buying from Amazon does NOT support your FLGS, and ultimately hurts the whole hobby.

Now, we sometimes order certain items from Amazon - there's nothing wrong with it - but since this thread is about supporting your FLGS, we kinda have to mention it.

Google to the rescue!

Urban Dictionary: FLGS = Friendly Local Game Store.

Yeah, well, those all died out many years ago in my area.  All we have these days for actual books is Barnes & Noble, and they only Paizo and Hazbro.

Does my Amazon purchase still give Crafty the same $$ ether way?  (I've always assumed yes, I hope I'm right)

Yes, but we would always prefer to support the FLGSes that are still out there. Smiley
