I am also a nan of nice brassy jazz for backgrounds. (I dug up an instrumental version of 'Is you is, or is you ain't.)

Find & listen to any Mission: Impossible TV scores and you'll hear some brassy jazz, even the Connery Bond films work too.

If you see an action movie soundtrack with the names Lalo Schifrin, David Shire, or John Barry attached, chances are its worth checking out. They all tended to specialize in that certain vein of jazzy, swaggering film cue that we associate with spy action and intrigue. There's also been some remixes of their best known themes, so if you want to add an electronica edge to your brassy saxophones, look for collections with their names on 'em.

Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 have passed on so you'll need to look for older stuff.

Extreme Ways by Moby puts me in an espionagistical frame of mind.

This (or a longer one) is on Propellerheads' decksanddrumsandrockandroll, along with History Repeating and an electronica infused remix of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (which I see Sketchpad has mentioned, but deserves seconding)

I like Hooverphonic for espionage, especially Love You to Death from No More Sweet Music and 2Wicky from A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular.

Blur - To the End has a nice Bond feel to it.

And of course Millennium by Robbie Williams sampled You Only Live Twice and the video parodied Bond well.

Reds in My Bed by 10cc = the ultimate espionage song (which, apparently, if you live in the US you absolutely cannot view online- so here are the lyrics).

Ha ha, I just found this topic after being gone for a while! I will have to check out all the suggestions everyone posted. I have more of an electronica-symphonic leaning for espionage music, and compiled a playlist on youtube with music pieced together from different composers and soundtracks. Enjoy!
