I have a question, are all the mechanics from the various Call to Arms books? I've held off on buying the pdf's since I much prefer the hard copy books and hate buying material I already have.

The Adventure Companion had all the non-spellcasting classes and feats in them, and I believe they've said they're gonna put all the spellcaster classes and feats in Spellbound, so yeah, if you buy AC/wait for Spellbound you can just ignore the Call to Arms pdf's.

Right, and since we don't know when Spellbound is coming out exactly, if you don't feel like waiting you can grab Adventure Companion as well as Mist Dancer and Infernalist and you'll have everything released so far.

I'm not exactly sure the Infernalist and Mist Dancer are great enough not to wait for them.  They're nice, but if you want to hold out for a hardcopy you won't miss them.

The Infernalist is indeed quite ... a challenge to play. I wouldn't recommend it unless in very specific situations, like a Conan game or something where magic is necessarily a pact with evil forces. In these situations, it can be fun. But the player has to be very, very cautious.

The Mist Dancer is directly inspired from the Mistborn novel series. It's a very fun class to play, somewhere between the Burglar a Mage built around Shadows and Illusions. So if you happen to need something in this area, it is a very nice expert class to add to your collection. If you don't, you should wait until Spellbound is out. Smiley

I thought the dancer was just a rework of a 3.5 class?

Nope. It's got elements of Mistborn, the Shadow Dancer (sorta) and the Arcane Trickster, plus its own schwa.

Would this be a good point to check on Spellbound's status? Smiley

I believe the Magic 8-Ball was optimistic about before March...

Indeed. We were in conference when that hit and pretty much all talking stopped for at least three solid minutes.
