Elf Blood, p.132, is your ground speed really supposed to decrease by 5 ft.? If so, why?

Dragon Lord, . 118. Is the level one ability Draconic Legacy as inefficient for Drakes as it initially appears? It looks like you gain +1 Str or Int, basically. Feature or bug?

Um... mine says increase.

EDIT: My PDF says increase, but my hard copy says drops. I assume the PDF is correct.

On the Dragon Lord topic. I noticed that too. Considering how feats work for classes (the whole ignoring prereqs thing) then I figure it's actually rather balanced, because its not a feat drakes are normally eligible for anyway.
Or, if you took a species feat that removed the drake's flight speed, you can get it back.

It was unfortunate typo. It should increase your base speed by 5 ft.

Feature. As ArawnNox rightly points out, Legacy still works for Drakes mainly because they couldn't normally get it, and they have the opportunity to increase their flight speed using it. The only way this class works for all species is because all entrants have Draconic Heritage and Legacy.

The Draconic Legacy feat is still a species feat, so it add to their breath weapon save DC also. Not great, but not a total wash.

Depending on the GM I could see allowing Drakes to take another species feat as if they already possessed Legacy, or to take a substitute breath type in lieu of the drake breath option.

But these are just houserule suggestions.

This might have been meant as a joke, however I am curious how can a Drake get Draconic Heritage AND Ebonscale as are they not both Level 1 only?  Thats the same issue I have with getting Draconic Heritage and Truescale (to change the breath weapons), and still qualify for the Dragon Lord class.

While I am here, whats the point of Ebonscale's two extra bite attacks?

AFAIK, there is not way that extra natural/unarmed weapons helps players.  The main books states that NPCs may frenzy to use each unarmed attack once as a full action.  I don't see a similar ability for PCs, unless you could the one-two hit combo, which you wouldnt need multiple unarmed/natural attacks for anyways.

I am new to the system, so thanks for any light you can shed on the subject!

You'd need to be a sorcerer, or some other specialty (assuming more come in future) that grants a level one-only feat.

Thanks for the info!  Was afraid that was the case.  No warrior/martial artists, acid breathing Dragon Lord --  Perhaps that was a balance decision?   Tongue

Any insight to the Ebonscale three attacks question?

I think what you're after there is the flurry action. I can't quote a page as I'm at work and my book is at home, but someone else might be able to.

I thought so, but the only thing I can find is the action that NPCs can do... I also do not have my book.  I will look as soon as I get home.

Alex mentioned when the Adventure Companion was first released that the Flurry action was exactly the point of the Ebonscale feat.

Will an ebonscale drake ever get to use its 3 bite attacks?  I thought NPCs could only do that using frenzy and PCs couldn't do it at all.
A character (any character) can flurry if they have 3 or more natural attacks Smiley This is described in the natural attacks section.

And you definitely want to take a look at the Sorcerer Specialty for creating your Draconic Heritage/Truescale combo
