They were cashing in on her name as much as the name of the shows/films.
... Not sure what you are talking about... So, no, I wouldn't say they were cashing in on her name.

I was referring to the Serenity RPG and the BSG RPG. I was not referring to DragonLance or Wanters of The Cash.

Which should have been obvious to me from the final part of the sentence, even without a quote, had I not just woken up.

Not sure I exactly agree with you, though. Smiley

That seems a particular short licence period

Whether or not it was short, the Dragonlance license expired without my seeing the warning. One day, I saw a DL sourcebook for $5 at DTRPG, and I went back to look for it. It was gone. At $5 a book, I would have picked up most of the line. But I missed it. I didn't want anyone who was interested to miss this one.

Well, clearly there was some cut in the flow of information, as the license was terminated around 18 months before they had to pull the stuff from drivethrurpg, and did get quite a bit of discussion when it happened.

This map might be the ultimate supplement for anyone wanting to pick up the BSG RPG. (Even if it does make Canceron look a bit like the Death Star)

I don't even like BSG and that map is awesome. Win.

One more thing: The BSG series bible is now available online, for free

53 pages, scanned from a 2003 document. A little bit on the fuzzy side, but still a good read.

Wish we'd had access to that when we were writing the RPG. We had to make it all up on the fly.

Universal gave us a thumbs up though, so no one can say it wasn't approved at the time.

Based on the article, I think most of the map came about while they were developing Caprica, so much of it didn't exist anyway. Wouldn't be the first time we've had two different sets of canonical information for a fictional setting, though.

Nope. Didn't have that either.
