So, I'm finally watching Roughnecks (yep, that's me, finger on the pulse of things) and just about to hit the second half o the series. Despite the appalingly primative 1990s grade CGI, it's by and large been quite enjoyable. Using Higgins as the audience identification figure is quite an interesting choice, but he's also the most deeply problematic character in the series as half the time he violates the "Everyone Fights" ethos of the MI, and his camera really needed to be turned into a customised mobile suit.

Sons of Anarchy Season 5 trailer: Focusing in part on my favorite character, Tera (the heart, soul, and ultimately voice of the show IMO)

I've seen the first 3 seasons and season 4 hits NetFlix at the end of this month ... I've enjoyed the show so far

I'm current and I can safely say it's among my favorite shows of all time. Amazing on every level.

I have to admit I was very surprised at the quality of the show. I caught up with most of it when it briefly appeared on InstantPlay and then got the rest through the mail. I completely underestimated it.

Been watching it since day one. The Ireland episodes were among the best.

Arrow extended trailer: This does the best job of any of the trailers yet at showcasing the vibe and focus of the series as presented in the pilot screening at Comic-Con. In related news, the showrunners have confirmed that Arrow will in fact feature no super powers at all (yay!).

Homeland Season 2 trailer

Fringe "Etta" Season 5 trailer

Robot Chicken DC Comics Special trailer

...and speaking of Seth Green, there's Star Wars Detours...

I love the dude and all, and I'm sure this will work with lots of folks, and I may even wind up enjoying it buuuut... Everything I've seen for the series so far falls flat for me. I think I chuckled maybe three times across all those vids.

Saved all the Doctor Who stuff for a separate post, as there's predictably a lot of it (given that the new series starts in less than a week)...

Series 7 Launch Date trailer: Same as the previous link, for those who skipped that line (you know who you are - shame, shame...).

Asylum of the Daleks teaser trailer: This one contains what I consider a mild spoiler, which is also a clue as to the meaning of the episode title.

The big DW news, however, is the announcement of Pond Life, a minisode series running all this coming week and acting as a direct prologue to Asylum.

Here's a clip of Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill talking about it.

I really liked the look of Arrow and that it will feature no superpowers at all. It looks like Deathstroke is expected to make an appearance during the first season as well.

...and Huntress, and China White, and a bunch of others. All without powers. :)

I saw the Huntress article and heard about China White. I'm loving the no powers bit too. Even Black Canary, if brought in, will have no powers. Awesome!

Not sure if anyone has seen The IT Crowd on NetFlix or on the BBC but it is hysterical. The premiere of Season 4 actually has a full-blown D&D game in the middle of it. The IT office has several boardgames in the background like Mystery At The Abbey, Ticket To Ride, and others. If you get the chance, take a look at it. The pilot episode is not great but it picks up steam by the end of the second episode.

The pilot is brilliant.  Matt Berry joining the case from season 2 on is pretty amazing, too.  I've been a fan since 2006, and I'm eagerly awaiting the special (which would have been season 5).  You're right too, great show.

EDIT:  Fixed a brain error.

There were some misfires but Ayoade, Parkinson and O'Dowd are brilliant together. The fourth season premiere actually depicts RPGs with honesty thankfully.

Yeah, I am, basically, a prostitute...

That's what you're saying, right?  ;)

Kidding!  Just in case - text based communication limitations and all that.

It certainly is one of the best representations of tabletop gaming in television - up with Eureka, IMO.
