Reinventing the franchise as a riff on The A-Team is an interesting direction to take, though the narrative device of offering up a false member of the cast to be killed off in the opening story arc being used on two of the 3 Hasbro properties being shown on the Hub may not have been the cleverest idea. But that is I suppose a small enough complaint, particularly in light of the Marvel comic's tradition of regularly killing off characters.

Of course, the idea of the sacrificial character is to prove the competence of the enemy and 16 episodes in, the operating principle for both sides more often than not seems to be pure dumb luck. It makes me yearn for Beast Wars, but again, it's something you can live with because it isn't one-sided.

The character reboots/cameos are on the whole quite good -- especially Lady J's channelling of Michelle Rodriguez. I find Scarlet's persistant incompetence both problematic and wearisome though, and I really don't see how a biologist guilty of crimes against nature gets the nickname Mindbender.

Also, the Dreadnock intro episode should have screened before the homecoming 2 parter, again one of those little niggles.

Setting Cobra up as a legitimate operator along the line of the Umbrella Corporation is a clever idea, making 'corporate towns' like Springfield easier to accept as wel as keeping the wandering hero motif more tightly focused.

Not that it's much consolation with greats like Elisabeth Sladen passing on, but Game of Thrones has been renewed for Season 2.

While I haven't seen it yet, or even the beginnings of it, this is an encouraging sign for Fantasy as a genre to be taken seriously.

And not just over-the-top, high magic fantasy either. The first episode could almost have been a medieval drama.
