I see what you mean. I'm only seeing issues with certain entries. The one in particular that was giving me the biggest fit was the Nightmare. A few others but can't remember exactly which.

I've had a look at the Nightmare. The main problem it has parsing is that Flyer is spelled Flier. in its type description. I'll see what I can do about updating the builder to see them as synonyms. In the meantime you can edit the statblock when loading it to work around the issue.

The builder also doesn't understand the Flaming Hooves extraordinary attack, so loads it as a weapon attack. This is less of an issue for me as there's no really specific format for linked extraordinary attacks that I know of, but I'll look at this also if I find time.

Hi all,

I got that developer tingle and decided to whip together a random treasure generator. It's in the beta of the npc builder, at the usual place. Please give it a try and let me know if it runs okay, so I can push it through to the main site.

Looks good meadicus. One thing though, I think I'd prefer being able to manually input the xp value instead of one humongous drop down box.

At a glance, everything looks good. I'll play with it and see if I can spot anything, but in the first few test tries I did this morning, everything worked wonderfully.

Yay, thanks for the feedback guys.

Good point.  I've been testing it mostly in the NPC builder itself, where the XP is auto-calculated, but I can see how the drop down would get annoying.

Question. Does the generator automatically add the threat level of the npc into its roll?

It does yes. But if your had to ask the question then it should be displayed on the screen, all add that in. Thanks for the thoughts.

Also, and this is a minor thing considering the awesome that is the NPC builder, I've noticed that "veteran" doesn't appear to change any of the stats, no matter how many grades I add.

I've gone with manually upping the threat level just to get the stats.

Regardless of which browser I load it in, the NPC Builder always just shows me the 'Loading' gif and never actually loads anything past that. I would really love to play with this thing, but how?

EDIT: It doesn't matter whether I try to load the main one or the beta, either. It just doesn't get past 'Loading'. I can leave the page up for an hour, come back, and it's still 'loading'.

Do you have Javascript turned off?

Do you have Javascript turned off?

No. Javascript's enabled. Also tried the page on multiple browsers (Firefox, Chrome, even IE) and it wouldn't load on any of them. I feel like it must be something stupidly obvious that I'm missing, though, because nobody else seems to have reported this problem.

EDIT: I was hoping downloading it would work, but if I go in IE and save as 'webpage, complete' type, as was suggested earlier, I don't get any java files or anything. The folder that it creates only contains the loading bar gif and the crafty games banner.

EDIT x2: Tried again, this time downloading in chrome, it gave me a couple extra files (a .cache and a .gs) but didn't do anything different. Still just a loading bar when I open it. Also tried disabling antivirus and stuff and opening the page in case it was somehow interfering, but no change.

It doesn't work when downloaded, my java knowledge is non-existent, so I'm guessing it relies on some data held off the web-page.

As a separate request, a downloadable version (even in a reduced capacity) would be extremely useful (can't always get a net connection where I play and simply the function of dumping in stats and getting out TL version would be useful)
