Just saw 1st Class. Awesome film. I'm disappointed that the recruitment/training montage covered so small a span of the film's timeline.

wow... we're in rare agreement, Mr. Andersen. I too saw First Class over the weekend and really enjoyed it. I wished the movie had kept it's Cold War/Espionage feel throughout the film, but I suppose at some point you gotta break your mutants out and let them fly.

I just saw the film last night also. Double feature at the drive-in following Green Lantern certainly didn't hurt my opinion of its awesomeness..

Just got back from Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

As someone who liked the first one okay and despised the second I have this to say: HOLY CRAP THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME!

Michael Bay actually made me give a shit about the characters. It was an amazingly good film.

This is hard to believe, but I rather want to see this flick anyway.  (In a theater of course, otherwise why bother?)

I had exactly the same reaction as you to the previous 2 films. I was debating whether or not to even bother with this one. Like MilitiaJim I'm of the opinion that the theatre is the only proper place to see films of this kind. Still not a sure thing that I'll be going, but your opinion has made it more likely that I'll take a chance.

Well, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol finally has a trailer out.

http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/mission-impossible-ghost-patrol/trailer

While it looks good, I'm not fond of the song in most of the trailer and the Kremlin bit at the very beginning has strained my suspension of disbelief to the breaking point. But I really like the supporting cast of Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Josh Holloway of JJ Abrams' Lost and Paula Patton of the film Deja Vu. The shooting in Dubai definitely gives it a different look. Of course, you have Ethan Hunt who never takes the easy route to gain entrance to the building. You'll see why in the trailer.

Supposedly, according to rumor, Tom Cruise is doing his last hurrah as Ethan Hunt and the reins are being handed off to Jeremy Renner after this. Definitely a positive step in the right direction IMO.

Enjoy!

I think it looks awesome.  Holding on to disbelief is a terrible way to watch movies like this.

I'm not trying to hold on to it too tightly, honestly. That moment is just a little out of range. Will I still see the film? Absolutely! But I want a plausible enough reason for how it occurred -- that Kremlin bit.

Otherwise I'm jazzed for it. I'm hoping they don't use the music that they used for part of the trailer.

Killer Elite Theatrical Trailer

DeNiro, Owen, Statham, Strahovski. The cast makes me think that Santa is fulfilling an unvoiced request a bit early.

Also the trailer reminded me of the Rock in a positive way. Let's hope it doesn't totally suck...

Something about the trailer for that film always makes me wonder what would have happened if the U.S. Goverment in the movie had gone with Audie Murphy, even wimpier looking than Allen:

Now here he is with more of his medals....

And for scale:

Murphy was a seriously tiny man.
