Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class) is prepping The Golden Age, which is "about a retirement home where superheroes end up. [The retired superheroes] help out their grandchildren when their middle-aged parents screw up the world." Vaughn may or may not write, direct, or produce himself.

When Men in Black III re-starts production next month, Alice Eve will play the younger version of Men in Black Agency head Emma Thompson in the time travel storyline. The British actress plays Olivia, hired as secretary for the Agency in 1969. While it appears she was given the job because of her looks, Olivia is actually whip smart. Sure enough, in the contemporary storyline, Thompson runs the place. Will Smith's Agent J character is forced to travel back in time to team up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save the world. Eve just completed production on The Decoy Bride and starred with John Cusack in The Raven. She's repped by Untitled, UTA and Artists Right Group. MIB III has extended a pre-planned holiday hiatus. With a skeleton staff in place, the filmmakers are taking extra time to hone the script. Director Barry Sonnenfeld has already assembled the footage shot so far, and insiders said that the film is still on track for its May 25, 2012 release by Sony Pictures.

Blade Runner is getting a prequel or a sequel or both.

    Warner Bros-based financing and production company Alcon Entertainment…, in the most significant property acquisition negotiations in the Company’s 13-year history, are in final discussions to secure film, television and ancillary franchise rights to produce prequels and sequels to the iconic 1982 science-fiction thriller “Blade Runner.”

    Alcon is negotiating to secure the rights from producer-director Bud Yorkin, who will serve as producer along with co-producer Cynthia Sikes Yorkin. Alcon’s franchise rights would be all-inclusive, but exclude rights to remake the original. The Company, however, may produce projects based on situations introduced in the original film. The project would be distributed domestically by Warner Bros. International rights are yet to be determined.

I'm also likng the news about Bladerunner having potential prequels and sequels. It makes my Cyberpunk instincts kick up again.

The only thing remotely cyberpunk about Bladerunner is the set dressing is reminiscent of Gibson's description of the Sprawl in Neuromancer a few years later. Primarily because their both built from noir themes and heavily incorporated Asia elements into the backdrop.

Bladerunner and cyberpunk are both dystopian, and while dystpoian is a necessary element of cyberpunk, it's not a sufficient element. Bladerunner is a sci-fi take on film noir, that's all.

Also, frankly, it doesn't need any prequels or sequels.

It depends on the style of your Cyberpunk RPG game. As far as sequels or prequels, they would be based in the setting from what I can tell and definitely not based around Deckard.

More stories set in the Bladerunner world could be interesting, but preferably not ones that involve characters from the original.

Uhh, I mean, that costume rocks so much it makes up for the reservations I had about Cap's costume.
