Has anyone seen the new Conan movie?  The trailers have looked so good yet it is getting KILLED in the reviews.

Late to the party - saw it last night.

20 minutes of Ron Effing Perlman, 10 of topless dancing girls, 90 minutes of Jason Momoa killing the heck out of a lot of dudes, and Rachel Nichols' body double. Worth my time and money on a quiet Wednesday evening.

The above may be conjecture, deliberate paraphrase, or outright bullshit.

Looking for GMs for Ohio Valley conventions. Some danger involved.

It was an alright sword and sorcery movie. Wasn't a Conan movie though.

That actually looks really really good.

In other news, I just saw Ides of March. While I was not fond of the politics espoused, it is a well done film. Clooney, acts, directs, and produces with DiCaprio this film about a campaign worker who chooses to grow a dorsal fin when push comes to shove. I left the theatre less than thrilled or amazed. However, it is a very well done film with good performances all around. This definitely seems to be a stellar year for Ryan Gosling.

Saw Real Steel this morning, excellent film and far better than I thought it would be. I went to a matinee and came out feeling like I underpaid

Saw it with my Mum, Nana and some cousins - everyone loved it.  Agreed that it was much better then I was expecting.

First time through I thought they gave us a brief glance of something to do with the enemy (well, aside from the purple lasers) but second time round I realised it was the quinjet.

Also kinda groaned at Steve's challenge about the armour (given he's a genetic joke running around on superviralsteroids) just so Tony could spout a Whedonism.

I did too.... Steve's challenge was more about the man inside and his character deficiencies

I think it's a fitting line. Steve Rogers is a hero without the serum, and he's also high and mighty enough to look down on someone like Stark.

Stark's response is also fitting - he's proud of every one of those points, even and possibly especially because Steve finds them so distasteful.

Great breakdown of the Avengers trailer, with running commentary: I pretty much agree with everything said here.
