New Zealand, what to see?

Hi all,

I have to speak at a conference in Aukland in March and since I have never been to that spectacular country Skinny and I have decided to spend a week afterward seeing the sites. We are really looking forward to it but really don't know what there is to see.
I know there are a few Kiwis here so I thought I'd ask if anyone can suggest any 'must see' things or pass on some local knowledge.

According to Alex, the game cons are teh awesum - especially the open bars.

No joke there BTW - at least not if I understood his Facebook posts correctly.
