I swear, my players love to test my creativity and knowledge of the rules.  So, the soldier guy wants to go a "non-traditional" path, and make a UFC / WWE style fighter.  Which, I'm even working with him to create a "Signature Move" feat to give him one trick that's his 'finishing move'.

...however.. we ran into a problem.  How do you handle such things as Power Slams and Power Bombs?  ...into objects no less.  Here's the scenario.  (Thankfully, this was the closing scene as I revealed their first fully stated evil bad guy.)

Fight with 4 low level minions.  The big bad guy walks in with his twin Katanas... and points at the good guys, yells in chinese and has the minions rush in.  The soldier goes.. I want to power slam one of the guys running at me!

Yeah.. so.. umm.. power slams?

Look for the Great Throw or Hurl ... might be in Wrestling Moves or Supremacy, I do not have my book with me at work. You may need to modify the distance permitted...

Don't have the book on me right now, but are their unarmed combat feats that allow you to do some amount of damage after a successful trip attack? Just because it's called a trip doesn't necessarily mean you are kicking your opponent's feet out, they just end up looking at sky after you do it.

Damn us and being at work. LOL.  The question would be.. do I modify any damage modifiers as the trip attack is also driving the person into the ground with his own weight...

Got the book, one of the tricks under Brawling Moves (page 185, FP) is actually body slam. That will probably give you the rules that you need for that.

Wrestling moves has the clothesline, hip toss and fling tricks, which would work for what you're going for.
Especially hip toss (trick):  you may make a trip action.  With success you also inflict your unarmed damage and the opponent has to make a fort save or become fatigued.  While his description of the action would be doing a power slam, mechanically it could be a variation of this, I think...

Wrestling supremacy has the double-hurl trick, but you have to have a prereq of +12 BAB and the rest of the wrestling tree for it. You also would get the backbreaker, always a favorite!

LOL.  Man, I asked my player specifically, "Are you sure that's not covered in the Wrestling Feats?"  "I don't think so."  ..I'm so reading it myself next time.  Talk about a deet de dee moment.. oye.

Awright, so! Good news iz youse among a professional. =D

Here's how this is covered.
Step Uno: in the absence of ring ropes a power slam is a reactive technique. So he'd be wise to invest in Open Stance from Wrestling Basics. This stance allows you to Grapple someone who misses you with a melee or unarmed attack within your reach. Not that this is within Reach not Adjacency, a rare distinction.

2) Individual moves are best interpreted by taste. A Powerbomb would be damn fatal on a hard surface, hence I'd call it a Backbreaker from Wrestling Supremacy. A power slam is basically just damage and a trip, so figure that as you want. I'd go with Hip Toss outside of a grapple, and Fling inside of it.

Thrace) If he's going to want to hang around in Open Stance, he'd like Surge of Speed and Lightning Reflexes. SoS gets him a spare action to get into the stance after, say, running up to the enemy (the Run action being verboten in Open Stance) so as to be in range. Lit. Refl. lets you go first rather regularily, and solves many issues therein such as coaxing an enemy with a gun to change up his plan.
Oh, and Mobile Offense is so totally a Drop Kick waiting to happen. >=D

Basic Combat Feats rock very, very hard.

Your player may also wish to consider a Martial Artist instead of a Soldier.  There's a full twenty-level preview in one of the recent issues of Signs & Portents.  I forget where you can find it, but there's a link to it somewhere on the forums.  Don't misunderstand me, Soldier rocks all over the place, but he'll end up with things that aren't necessarily useful to him, such as Armor Use.  The MA, on the other hand, is custom-tuned for just the sort of beatdown he's looking to dispense.  Smiley

10kb offers a class whose name escapes me that might be good for this as well!  Max damage rolls on your finisher would be sweet!

Does he want WWE or UFC? They're totally different. They also break up into different types of fighter:

WWE: Striker, Grappler, Luchador
UFC: Striker or Grappler

Bear in mind that a UFC grappler will work completely differently from a WWE grappler and so on. Can you ask your player to be more specific? Did he have someone specific in mind? The Great Khali? Tito Ortiz? Batista? Chuck Liddel? Rey Mysterio? Randy Couture?

A mix between The Natural Couture & a powerhouse like Batista is his concept.  I'm pluggin' away at the feats right now.  You know.. suddenly.. I love being a GC.. because.. well.. there are just way too many feats to weigh into a character! LOL
