I'm leaving for a destination I still don't know

It's been a bookish sort of Christmas for me. Of note:

  • Faction Paradox - The Book of the War -- Literally Doctor Who with the serial numbers filed off, it tells the story of the first 50 years of a Time War beyond the scope of anything the new series imagined.
  • Time Unincorporated, Vol 2 -- a huge collection of articles from a wide range of Dr Who fanzines. In many ways, these two books are a distillation of my era of Who fandom.
  • Mistborn trilogy -- finally! It's been extremely hard to get a hold of around my neck of the woods -- the local libraries don't seem interested in Sanderson's work unless it's the Wheel of Time, and it's only now that I've seen a copy of the 1st book in the shops I could point someone towards and say "I'd like that".

I got a fair bit of stuff, but here's the big ones:

  • A blue ray play (I recently upgraded my TV, so this will allow me to watch movies in glorious HD. I did break it in with a David Attenborough doco, just to prove that it's not all about movies).
  • Munchkin-Fu (plus expansion) - I may not have made the missus a proper gamer yet, but she does love Munchkin. She has Munchkin Booty and Star Munchkin. We're hoping to get her father interested with the cowboy version.
  • Along with with blu-ray player, my brother got me a few movies to watch: Thunderball, The Simpsons, and Hitman. He does know what I like, and I keep him supplied with the best new shows - it's just a shame his bosses don't know what's good (they passed on picking up Boardwalk Empire, for one).

Also, my little brother finally paid me back the deposit for his kilt for my wedding. That's a few hundred for me to do with as I wish. Good times.

The above may be conjecture, deliberate paraphrase, or outright bullshit.
