"DC Comics has officially abandoned the Comics Code Authority. That familiar logo, letting parents know that the content within was okay for their children, will no longer appear on DC books. Marvel had already dropped the CCA way back in 2001, replacing it with their own in-house rating system; DC’s abandonment of the system means that only Bongo and Archie submitting to the CCA."

Given the unrepentent and unrelenting slaughter and gore fests that oh so many DC comics have indulged in lately, about time.

Who cares? The CCA hasn't had teeth in over 20 years. Nothing will change.

That's actually rather surprising. Guess it's well and truly dead then. Good riddance, I suppose.

Considering this is a topic we covered in my History of Comics class in art school (and watched the retarded PSAs) it's no surprise that the CCA is being abandoned. I mean, it was a knee-jerk reactionary measure that stopped having any real authority years and years ago.

Now... if movie production companies moved away from the archaic MPAA-rating system, we might be on the right track.
