Would it be possible to give a volunteer squad of veteran users the semi-moderator ability to delete obvious spam when we see it, so as to keep it off the forums?  I for one would be happy to sign up, and it might even allow us to enable new users to post threads again.

I couldn't find anything else to post this in so:

Hi new user here with some frustrations with the site. I know you are trying to combat spam and all but most newbies to an RPG system will usually have some questions, concerns and the like they would like to discuss. If they don't find a thread on it, they can't really talk about it since they can't create one themselves. I have looked through the forums and I can't find any PM system either. So I can't ask mods about anything either! That seems really counter intuitive if you ask me! I can't even view mod emails to email them a question!!

So adding to the above idea, can each forum have a question thread in it? So new players/DM/Storytellers can ask questions without needing to post 5 random posts just to ask their question?

Hello, and welcome to the forum!

The Personal Message system can be reached by clicking the little green scroll underneath any forum-user's name. It's on the same row as the strange baby-face-square-thing.

Secondly, I would agree with each game, at least, having a Q&A thread. Now granted, I play FC and so that subforum already has a Q&A thread stickied, but games like Mistborn do not; including one would be quite useful to people who played them.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the reply, that PM system would be useful, however to me there is no green scroll button either!
I believe that will show up once I have posted 5 times with the ability to post threads as well.

I don't see any of the strange baby-face-square-thing except my own currently either, no doubt another way to combat spammers as the board has every right to do. There just doesn't seem like an easy way to get newbies integrated without adding on to potential discussions that are quite old and have no interest to the poster. I am glad the FC forum has a Q&A thread, I haven't delved into there myself as my questions pertain to Mistborn. It would be great if Mistborn got one too (and any other subforum lacking them)! I guess I'll find a way to post 3 more times without basically posting bad or pointless posts.

That's a pretty good idea, davichido. I'll go start one in the Mistborn subforum, since that sees a lot of new user traffic.

The above may be conjecture, deliberate paraphrase, or outright bullshit.

I'd tell an ebola joke here, BUT YOU WON'T GET IT.
