Hm.... A lover claims she's raped and it conveniently raises the stakes for vindictive action against a man who clearly thinks many steps ahead at all times... A lover who can later recant when and if he's brought in for the charges... I'm not sayin'. Just sayin. Wink

The "lover" is probably more likely to just disappear, as "recanting" at this stage would bring her a not-inconsequential time in the slammer. Well, for Scandinavian standards, you probably get more for defacing a library book in the US.  Roll Eyes

Look at the various people who believe Princess Diana was assassinated even without an obvious motive.

Don't go there.

Depends on the library and the district attorney.

As an aside, I wish he'd just upload the lot, and while he's at it send the details to every major newspaper in the world too.

Frankly Iran and North Korea need to be wiped off the map for the sake of the free world. A ground campaign would be lengthy and costly, as seen in Iraq, so - and this is callous, I know - just nuke the fuckers. NO-ONE will miss them.

This is really fucked. I hope Assange mails the lot to every newspaper in the free world before he's arrested.

Wait until governments start claiming that all the info is lies made up by Assange and his revolutionary terrorist cronies.

Yeah, drip feeding the intel was entirely the wrong way to release it.

Unless he is holding an ace in the hole, a bombshell of an information nugget that he wanted billions of people paying attention to before he dropped it.  If that is the case, it was the perfect way to release it.

I don't know one way or the other, but coupled with the DEADF007 story, it's been an interesting December for Spycraft ideas.

Precisely: you give 'em both barrels and run before they realise what hit them.

Unless he plans on being a martyr to open government, or getting far enough into the light that shadowy tendrils cannot reach.

I was under the impression that the whole infodump was given to Guardian etc. Probably just for this reason.

Probably just for this reason.
Or provide evidence implicating the Guardian in the conspiracy of Governments against the People.
