Hey all
My little cousin is turning 10 in two weeks and I was thinking of getting her a geeky present.
She's a girly-girl type(so far) but really smart and with a nerdy tendency so I thought it could be a good idea.
Do you think an rpg aimed at younger audiences(if there are any) would be a good idea?
Or should I stick with comics and gadgets?
Cheers

I remeber reading about an RPG actually aimed at that demographic, Witch Adventures or something. Same mold as Win. Let me see if I can dig a link up for you.

EDIT: Here you go: http://www.witchgirlsadventures.com/

You know I was thinking about that days ago...Though she needs to know what an rpg is before laughing with most of the jokes in there(though its fun regardless)

Are you sure its not for teenagers though?
Would a girl around 10-11 dress up like a goth?...Or is it me who is so detached from younger generations?
Or maybe they just roleplay older girls...

Well, the inspiration material (Winx Club, W.I.T.C.H., Sailor Moon, etc) is aimed at her age group, even though the heroines are older. The character's they list are 12 to 14. I'd assume it wouldn't be to hard to run it with 10 or 11 year olds. Check with the designers.

*shrug*

I don't know your niece. Maybe her parents would be able to tell you how interested she'd be.

There's also Faery's Tale, which your FLGS (Hi! [waves]) should still be able to acquire for you in hardcopy.

[EDIT] It's not an roleplaying game, but if you can find it, there's Days of Wonder's Queen's Necklace.  Girly theme, good card game, sadly out of print.  Sad

No worries.I've also contacted the creators. If they treat magic/death/violence like on any of those shows I think its a win.
(I am not a big fan on how dark Harry Potter gets at places for certain ages.Though at the same time its not nearly dark enough for me)
