[OOC: Dren has heard of the Black Flag. They're a small but skilled mercenary company, and thier leader - this Hatholdir - is an unusually principled man for a mercenary. Then again, he is distantly related to the line of Isildur.]

Kyan stands and grasps Erkenwulf's hand in greeting "None taken lad, glad you were able to join us."

Bella yawns and says "Right lads, if you think the hobbit appetite is impressive, wait until you see our capacity for sleep..." With that she gathers her thinks and heads to her rented room for the night, snickering at Dren's comment.

Brannadan laughs at Gorbo's comment. "Hah, I don't doubt it. If you'd told me that you had a great-grandfather who challenged a giant to an eating contest and won, I'd almost believe you." He chuckles a couple of times, then nods in Bella's direction. "She has a point, though. The journey has been long, and I'm sure Kyan wishes to show us the grand dwarven halls as soon as possible, so I'll retire as well as soon as I finish my mug and pipe."

Thurinir to the captain of the mercinaries "the hour is too late for grim tidings but I would meet in the morrow and hear what you know of the gathering of Easterlings in the hills" He turns then and looks over the room, his eye lingering just a little on a beauty "another in the short days of Men is near its rest, I judge a song will ease your rest and repay your vibrant company" With that he launches into a sweet tune his clear countertenor voice would make the valar weep with the haunting melancholy of his song but at the high point of the song he seems distracted and wanders off tune...

Over the next few hours, the night winds down in tempo. Soon, each you is either asleep, or lost in his or her own thoughts until morning. You are all woken by the Innkeeper before sunrise, as apparently you have visitors.

Kyan is the first outside, where he meets four doughty-looking dwarf warriors in brilliantly polished chainmail. Each wears a flowing blue cloak and carries an ornate battle axe.
"Greetings Master Addisheg." says one of them with a sweeping bow. "The King has sent us to act as an honor guard for you and your guests."

Over the next ten minutes or so, you all get your act together and gather outside. Please describe your attitude and state of dress at this early hour.

"Greetings" Kyan replies a little bleary eyed "Allow us a few moments to get dressed and we'll join you."

Returning to his room Kyan dresses in his armor as is typical for his kind, spending a few moments touching up his beard. He pulls on a dark grey cloak and sets off to the common room meet his friends, using his axe as a walking stick. He chuckles to himself about why there's always a kingly summons before breakfast and there will be no end of the halflings grumblings about it.

When the summons comes Thurinir is awake, alert, and watching the door as if expecting someone. He is immaculately presented in grey and silver. The bronze hilts of his short swords just visible beneath his flowing mantle. At the call he simply stands and glides out with a nod to the others. Emerging Lord Gillion regards the honour guard with a cool fleeting glance as if they are an unremarkable service. He stands calmly watching the sun’s progress above the lake while the others scramble to get ready.

Gorbo is used to early travel and leaving on short notice, so Gorbo dresses and packs quickly for the trip before making his way to the common room where he sits himself at the table, ready for breakfast until he finds out they aren't eating at the inn.

"That is being in'uman, maybe bein' even a little in'obbit and indwarf, too, there bein' no breakfast, no beer."  But even as he grumbles, Gorbo fetches Stot from the stables and prepares to ride with the Dwarf escort.  However, after coming back from the stables he seems in a much better mood.

"Master Kyan, I be curious about somethin' and perhaps you be bein' able to 'elp me.  'ow be the dwarf kitchens be comparin' to the elf ones in Rivendell?  I be 'avin' to find out!"

Erkenwulf emerges from his room looking well rested. It seem that, while Dale lacks in stabling, it excels in bedding and he has managed the best night's sleep he has had in some time. He is a little surprised to see the Dwarven honour guard so early in the morning, but reasons to himself that the journey to the Lonely Mountain still lies ahead of them.

Not expecting time to stop and change before arriving at the Court of King Dain, Erkenwulf makes sure his clothing is as neat and presentable as possible. He won't look as immaculate as their new Elven companion, but he won't leave the King with the impression that his people are unwashed wildmen. Certain that he is as proper looking as is possible, he finally heads downstairs.

"Master Gorbo I'm sure you'll find the dwarves table to your likin' there's much more beer and red meat than you'll find on the tables at Rivendell." Kyan says

"Did somebody mention beer and red meat," Erkenwulf says as he joins the rest of the party. "I've heard tales of the appetites of dwarves, it will be good to see if they live up to their reputation."
