"Traitor!", Marcus called out, hoping the suit would muffle his voice and identity enough to disguise who was under the suit.  "You let those intruders onto this vessel!", he continues as he lunges forward and grabs at the man.

While Elsie keeps the kids distracted and Alice looms threateningly over the computer terminal, most of the rest of the party bolts out of the room and into engineering. Frank, Hondo and the men-folk run pell-mell along the metal level 2 gantry, clattering down the stairs to level 1 and charging into melee. Marcus lunges forward again, grabbing a hold of the startled supervisor, berating him as he places him in a firm arm lock.

Upstairs as the last person leaves the room, the monitor in front of Alice beeps obediently as the mainframe finishes rebooting.

Alice's fingers danced over the keys as she worked, Jenkins on the shelf by the monitor, hopping back into the root and looking for Dr. Chandra and the Commander's accounts to delete and kick them out of the system.

"Eat it, bitches!" shouts Hondo, laying mightily into the nearby techs with the wicked length of steel in his fist.

Marcus slips in behind the Supervisor, twisting and locking the Supervisor's arm behind his back with one hand and wrapping his other arm under the Supervisor's jaw.  Marcus Growls into the Supervisor's ear, "If you know what's good for you, you'll stop struggling."

As Alice logs back into the computer, a firewall immediately halts her progress asking for a password. She enters her password and logs in, and is stopped again as the system slows to a crawl, beginning to defrag itself. She quickly realises that someone, somewhere in the Ark is on to her, and attempting to stymie her efforts.

Meanwhile, outside in the engine room, Hondo, Marcus and the civilians punch, kick, stab and whack their way through the technicians, who seem completely caught on the back foot. Hondo drops two, and with a terrible roar, Frank wades in with his autoaxe, hacking and chopping two of the technicians into salsa. Across the room, Marcus grapples with the supervisor, finishing him of with a sharp twist of his neck that leaves no-one in any doubt that he is quite dead.

Then it happens. With a clatter that is barely audible over the machinery, the melee and the roaring autoaxe, two grenades fall to the floor, bouncing slightly before they detonate, with a blinding flash and a deafening bang. Hondo drops his crowbar, staggering backwards, as does the surviving technician from the first group; Frank somehow escapes unscathed. Across the engine room, the second grenade goes off, stunning two of the techs as Marcus dumps the limp supervisor to the floor. The civilian men are utterly unprepared, and the flash/bangs leave them lying scattering around the room, curled up in groaning balls on the floor.

Marcus and Frank both spot three figures in some sort of advanced armour moving down the stairs and taking up positions in cover behind machinery. Another two look down on the engine room from level 2, on the far side of the room from Robotics. The security team has arrived, and judging from their laser rifles, they mean business.

A voice over the intercom announces
"FIRING IN T-MINUS 8 MINUTES."

"Ooooh.  Gettin' feisty." Alice glared at the monitor.  "Time to strap on the code wang and get to rapin'.  C'mere sweety." She gave the computer bank a malicious and slightly crazy glance and resumed typing.

Marcus leaps off the platform into a forward roll and charges right up to one of the newcomers.

Hondo scrambles off the ground and into the face of one of the security goons, scrabbling for the man's rifle.

As the shock from the flash/bangs clears, Frank, Marcus and Hondo are the only people at ground level left standing. They use the opportunity to rush the Enclave troops, but like a well-oiled machine the power-armoured soldiers all simultaneously backpedal, firing as they go. Frank weaves off to one side, ducking behind a bank of machinery as a shot aimed at his chest slams into it. Marcus is not so lucky, and before he can reach his target a laser bolt finds its mark, punching a neat hole through his abdomen on the lower left side. The other two troops above pause for a moment to survey the situation... and then begin calmly and methodically executing the stunned civilians, beginning with those still standing.

Hondo overbears the armored trooper, grabbing and twisting at the suited figure in ways that make servos whine in protest, a contest of groaning metal versus grunting meat.

"What the crap?" Alice asked as the flashes lit up the corridor. "That can't be good, and this will wait a moment," she muttered as she holstered Jenkins and hoisted Lady Joan before moving down the hallway.  Nearing the doorway she paused and crouched to stay in the shadows as Lady Joan focused her attention on the trooper who shot Marcus.

With a roar of pain, frustration and anger, Marcus launches himself at the soldier that shot him.

Franklin briefly checks out the guy in front of him before attacking. He looks pretty well armored... lucky for Frank he's got quite the can opener in his hands. He grins menacingly at the armored trooper, before finally lunging at his torso with the autoaxe.

Alice dashes out onto the balcony overlooking engineering, readying her rifle to see what she can do. She arrives just in time to see two Enclave soldiers putting the rest of the civilian menfolk to death. The four of them are repeatedly pierced by laser bolts, tossed about like rag-dolls before they fall to the floor and lie still. Moments later Elsie joins her, drawing her hand cannon and flicking off the safety.

Below, Marcus and Hondo each grab a hold of their targets, forcing them backwards and pinning them against the aft bulkhead. Frank goes to work on the third with his autoaxe, the monstrous thing screeching and spitting sparks this way and that as it seeks to find purchase on the hapless soldier's armour. Amazingly, the suit of armour holds - the trooper braces his back against the bulkhead behind him and kicks Frank away from him. His armour is scored from the right shoulder to the left hip, but he seems unfazed. He uses the momentary opportunity to swing the butt of his rifle at his attacker, but Frank easily deflects it with his whirring weapon, taking a chunk out of the stock.
