Had a bit of a breakthrough dealing with the idea of the mystic weapon master or "kensai" archetype. The results may be of interest Smiley.

The basics feat seems too powerful, to me. I mean, it costs quite a bit of reputation to level up an artifact. With this, you would never need to spend that reputation again, as far as I can tell.

Doesn't affect artifacts at all. I can make that more explicit. It IS basically paying off the equivalent rep cost to level up the charms on your magic weapons (essences don't get more expensive as the level increases).

So... How many folks have any player characters with more than 2 magic weapons in their campaigns so far?

My character in the Middle Earth PbP game only has one, but he does also have a Holding and a Contact, so I'm spreading the Rep love around a little. I can't see much reason for having more than two magic weapons, unless you have both ranged and melee weapons.

As for the feats, with the Mastery/Supremacy bonuses can you pick an Essence/Charm that your weapon already possesses? If you can, do the effects stack?

Those bonuses are all named "magic" bonuses, so just like if you had two different items providing the same bonus, no they wouldn't stack.

Now I just need to play enough Wyrmstone for this to be useful to my character...

Only once - Sword, Board and a Rifle.  I do often have a melee and ranged magic weapons, if the campaigns setting isn't low magic.

The feats look pretty cool, but I'd consider making it "choose one magic item you own" - just has the feel of an ancestral weapon or a sword with part of your soul in it, rather then spreading the love.  They will certainly get some use in my home games.

I thought leaving it affecting all weapons you own would support a wider variety of builds to allow for masters of multiple weapons since the feat investment to have different types is intense - 6 just to max out a weapon, 9 (!!) to have two different weapons fully pumped. It also sidesteps any issues of if a weapon is lost or destroyed. SInce the essences and charms don't stack, theres no worry of the later feats becomeing any more potent than they are supposed to be.

Now I just need to play enough Wyrmstone for this to be useful to my character...

The feats are fairly portable to other settings, but I'm sure they'd be happy to have more folks populating the campaign Smiley.

I'll be taking something like the priest has about it being replaced, but that's just for home use [and campaign specificity] - I certainly don't see any balance issues with it affecting everything you own, as you pointed out the investment is high enough that the return seems fair.
