It'd go well next to the "Buy more Crafty products. Buy more Crafty products." one

Theres another way of seeing this:
Skeletons, golems, automatons and the like differ little from moing furniture, they can all be see as "Animated Objects" wich means they follow some rules about objects and some rules about animated beings.
The way I see it Lethal and Subdual damage has no parallel with damaging Objects, whats important its the weapon per se. A maul can batter down a door and anything smaller, a whip can cut through a tin can but can chopper a wooden door.
Skelletons and the like can be treated as objects when suffering damage. Any weapon damage simply becomes object damage. The important thing its the weapon being used, how effective is against that creature? but thats explained in the creature's features.

More complex than it needs to be, in all honesty.

Actually theres no complex thing here, its just an interpretation that justify the no need to give Skelleton the Achiles Heel or special resistance from weapons that delivers subdual (specially blunt weapons)
