Yhea the free hand bit is a given lol. However, it's a free action to drop something soooo...as long as you're willing to free up a hand, you got a dagger.

You know what is sort of weird? Someone with Two Weapon Fighting and Knife Basics could wield a flail and a shield. They could take -2 on their attacks, attack with the flail and shield, then stab someone with a stiletto, while continuing to wield the flail and shield. If they have Flail Basics, too, this could become slightly surreal. In one round, they could attack with the flail and shield at -2, the stiletto at -2, then attack a flat-footed character with a flail at a total of -6.

Seems reasonable to me. You have a shield readied, a flail readied, and a knife readied. Use them in whatever combination you like. Opponent thinks he has your number... and then you leave a knife in his ribs he never even saw comming.

Oh, I'm not saying it's wrong, or overpowered, or unreasonable. Just... sort of weird. Smiley And I can totally see it in a Jackie Chan/Legolas kind of way, where there are weapons, and there are foes, and sometimes they meet each other in sudden and deadly ways.

Ah ty Alex that's what I was wondering. Kinda figured but hey! Never know sometimes.

Hey Grim, if you hit with all 3 on a suprise round, do you get the extra sneak dice per stick?  Grin

Happiness!

In a simultaneous attempt to bring the thread closer to topic and derail it further, can a PC with Knife Basics who has two or more knives on his person use Darting Weapon?

Signs point to no. This may explain why, outside of Michael Jackson videos, knife fighters are usually depicted as wielding two knives. That would also allow a double throw.

It's a good thing Two Weapon Fighting doesn't specify "exactly" two weapons, and in fact is quite specific about making you attack with the two weapons you are claiming for the purposes of being able to use the Feat.

I would be rather inclined to say yes, as long as all attacks are made with a single knife.
