Holy crap! Wargames Factory has some new plastics coming out that look like they will fit right in to my 1800s games -

Twenty Expeditionary Force infantry, for less than $14 at The Warstore. Cheesy

They also have 32 plastic Celts for $18, I have a scenario for my current group that might work well with these folks if I were to paint them in ghostly hues.

Gonna be a few months, but I see many weeks of happy painting in my future. Smiley

The Brits are now in stock. In a few minutes the amount that they have on hand will be reduced by one....

The Auld Grump

*EDIT* Heh, I should mention that I got into role playing games through historical miniatures wargaming. I get misty eyed when presented with a nice big bag of unpainted Prussians.... Tongue

I was informed about these -

On the World Works Games forums by Chironex. They go for a British pound each, making them pretty darned affordable, even after shipping. They come from Minimi with plain, skull & bones, or with a dragon's head muzzle as choices. I am thinking about picking up a bunch of these. (By a 'a bunch' I mean around sixty or so - three ships, with twenty guns each.)

The Auld Grump, who suddenly has an urge to see Master and Commander... again....

These coud be useful for minis http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/12/04/toy_taliban/, Taliban Lego, and a link to bond lego.

Though by the sounds of things they might not be availably for long.

Hmmm, for those who are looking at Lovecraft's Dreamlands as possible fodder for Fragile Minds then this Gug
(click to show/hide)
might work. Gods know I lost sanity just looking at it....  Shocked

Somehow I think that I will stick with the RAFM Gug....

And now, from the good folks at Arachnid - World's Third Largest Evil Organization comes -

The Arachnodroid! The perfect robo-sentinel for all your Evil Base Protection needs!

Miniature is from the old Grenadier Future Warriors line, re-released by Mirliton, over in Italy. Smiley Nice figure, I used to have the critter in lead, back in the dawn of time.

Well, I have mentioned these fellows on other forums, and every one loves zombies, so....

Wargames Factory is doing a limited run of plastic zombies for modern games. About $5 U.S. per sprue of six zombies, most with separate torsos, legs, heads, and right arms.

It appears that they have an ongoing contest of sorts - folks suggest a plastic minis sprue, then folks 'preorder' the sprues to determine popularity. When a sprue reaches 1000 votes it goes into production, and the person who suggested it gets free sprues, a gift certificate, and bragging rights. Smiley The zombies screamed right past the necessary 1,000 and are rampaging their way towards 2,000.

I have ordered five sprues of the zombies, which I do not intend to use as ghouls in the Fallout game that I am not thinking about running. Less than a buck apiece for modern zombies - I can't wait to see their little corpses. Tongue

A full list of the various sprues up for voting can be found here. This is the same company that is making the rather nice plastic Brits that I mentioned above. Smiley Look at the list, I am pretty sure that you will find something to spark interest, whether it is near future civilians or a tyrannosaurus rex. I have bid towards a few of them - who wouldn't want a sprue of plastic pirates, I ask you?

You Meddling Agents have interfered for the last time!
Prepare to face my DOOM RAY!

Miniature is in the RAFM Space: 1889, though it looks more Pulp to me. Either way, the money is currently making it's way electronically to RAFM. Smiley

Mega Miniatures has free game aids at the following link.

They could go supplement your modern miniatures (and they're free...).

Soon Wargames Factory's Liberty & Union League will have a sprue of Government Agents/Men in Black up for voting. Suggested by, well, me. Tongue

Useful for all your government conspiracy needs, from Watergate to Alien invasions, to zombie outbreaks.

Or it could just be the Blues Brothers.

The Auld Grump, right Elwood?

*EDIT* The Liberty & Union League has a bunch of nifty sprues up for consideration. The ones that I have voted for include Alien Invaders, Vicious Corsairs (arr!), more zombies, and Deep Ones. (Fish heads, fish heads, roly poly fish heads....)

The prices on the finished sprues have been pretty darned reasonable. (24 zombies for $17, less if you go to a discounter.)

Worth voting on.
