So.. amazingly, we finally got back to a SC2 game. ...and the epic fails were quick to follow. So.. here's the setup. Team is investigating a blown 'hit' on a wild mouth politician. They follow a lead.. lead takes off running. (I'm thinking foot chase.) Wheelman unleashes his skateboard (He's playing a Xtreme sports star aiming for Street Knight) and takes off after him. So far, the GC (me.) is following. ...then it goes downhill... (takes two rounds to catch him.. then..)
His next action gets my source book all page turnin'.
He wants to dismount, at full speed, onto the hood of a car, jump from the car and tackle the NPC.
Step 1. Complex athletics. Dismount / jump. Failure on any of them is going to cause a nasty face plant. -4 for two surfaces. 19 / 18. Successful.
So, tackling time. Bullrush looks like it works. Opposed checks... 21 vs. 6. 1+3 squares & sprawled. Damage should be Collision of 1 lethal plus falling of 1d6 for 10 feet. 1d6+1 lethal (AP1) & 1D6+2 Unarmed damage. Roll up.. 4 /4. So, 11 points. Not looking too good.
Saves! ...and this is where the GC fails. 4&5. Both the glass window fails, sending the NPC through it into a store front, and the NPC fails, so he dies on impact.
So, the sports star grunts, gets up, runs into store front (which is open and full of customers), gun drawn and tells the NPC "Don't Move!" ..I can't help but snicker. Skater waits for the rest of the team.
Pointman: "...He's dead."
Runner: "Subtle."
Soldier: "Heh. That'll teach him to run."
Sleuth: "Anyone know the number for a good Seance?"
Intruder: <I get gone.>
Wheelman: "Are you sure?! Crap! Check him again!"
Oh, how I missed you SC2 and your crazy antics. Just had to share.
