Just a note that I intended the the little scene on the cathedral steps to be a day or two after the big fight. Time enough for a laundry service and for emotions in SAndpoint to be a smidge less raw.

Both the Superior and the Shadow Dancer are beginning to seduce me as interesting places for Divia to go; a second level in Martial Artist is mandatory to get there. The question is do I take it now, or put it off in order to pick up Explorer 1?

I'm sorry, but where is the Superior class? And for Shadow Dancer, are you referring to the Wyrmstone class?

Either way, I have a philosophical preference for depth over breadth. With Divia already having levels in 2 classes, adding a third at level 3 seems a bit much. Other than Tomb Raider, what will you gain? Are you looking to drop 1 rank in Search, and have Search floor out at 21 for most of your career? Will you ever take another level of Explorer to make it worth your while? Will you be maxing out your expert class to make your game-breaker at 14th level?

Without more information, I'm loathe to give any hard advice.

Superior is here. And yes

Tomb Raider is worth my while in and of itself because it means a reliable speed boost and lessens the chance of failing grapples and other related checkes where as  Expl2 would be a waste as it would actively hurt progression into expert classes. The question is really whether I want to the BAB bump now or at level 4

The difference is so small, I don't think that it matters at this point. We seem to be hitting plenty, an increased chance of hitting of 5 percentage points won't be missed much. And we have enough tricks to work around some higher defense scores if they get thrown at us. The floors from Tomb Raider will definitely be felt at level 3, and would likely be missed.

Thanks for answering the other questions too. And as a point of order, have you petitioned the GM about the two expert classes in question? And have the petitions been granted?

Is Vardeman still around?

Yep, I'm still around. Been a bit busy with RL for a couple weeks, but have caught up on the IC thread and am ready to go.

Ok, unless told otherwise I'm assuming you get back before the party moves onto the next event. I'll be posting to tie this scene up later this evening. In the meantime, give me seven Survival and seven Investigate checks at +2.

Survival (1d20+10=14, 1d20+10=13, 1d20+10=13, 1d20+10=23, 1d20+10=13, 1d20+10=25, 1d20+10=15)
Counting in my Trailblazer ability, five of those become 22's if necessary.

Investigate (1d20+3=9, 1d20+3=21, 1d20+3=5, 1d20+3=11, 1d20+3=17, 1d20+3=10, 1d20+3=19)

How many Action dice can I use per pair of rolls?  I'm guessing that each Survival lines up with an Investigate.

Each pair is a day. You have your starting action dice, minus whatever you spent on the Impress checks.

Is this all one scene, so no refresh?  If so (and that seems probable), I will have spent one to activate the critical Impress, so applying one to the 4th Investigate (Action Die (1d4.open(4)=2)) and then another one to the same (Action Die #2 (1d4.open(4)=2)). Well, that boosts it to a 15.

Ok, I'll address the results of V's checks, give an update from the healing, Teo's poison status and all the rest in the morning.

In the meantime, here's the full reward breakdown. As a free hint, some of this stuff should be examined carefully (remember this is originally a D&D module). Who wants to roll Knowledge (Haggle) to price out the loot? After you guys look at the stuff I'll let you know what checks are needed to ID it. I will say the potions could be ID'd with Knowledge (Crafting (Chemistry)), and the scroll with Read Magic, an Identify check, or Knowledge (Spellcasting).

Once we've allocated toys I could do with gearing up, since it looks like we're soon to on the offensive I think it's time I picked up a bow.

Also in a supreme d'oh for character builds I've realised I don't have the strength minimum to pick up 'Deceiving Strike etc), looks like my lvl 4 increase will end up being Str.

I suggest the characters meet to do cooperative rolls for haggle to value etc. page66.
Of my characters Paiter has +5 with Haggle good as a helper, but other than that they won't be much help.

What do you think?
