A gurgling cough can be heard from where Divia spotted the demon, and the she sees a wad of... something vile flying towards her for a brief moment before it smacks into her face. The demonic phlem smells of rotting flesh and brimstone and its... wriggling.
The roll is 27 vs 15. Natural 20, Threat. GM activates the threat, GM has 9 dice left. Divia fails the save and is sickened.
After a moment of muttering, a three beams of fire flky to strik Alden, Divia, and Shyla. Alden and Divia are slightly singed, while Shyla ignores the magical flames.
Roll is 26. After resistances, Alden takes 5 points of Fire, and Divia takes 2 points of Fire. Divia and Alden both save and are not on fire.
The quasit is then gone again.
Haldar's first swing cuts into the demon, sheering off a... something... maybe a vestigle wing... the hewn limb drops to the ground in a spray of vile black fluid and acrid smoke, the demon doesn't seem fazed though. His backswing goes wide however.
19 hits. The demon makes it's damage save. 11 does not hit.
Argan sword goes wide and the wrathspawn manages to avoid the brutal shield bash.
8 and 12 are both misses.
Volokkor lunges at the demon, over extending himself and getting bopped on the nose for it. He recovers, and lashes out at the demon, tearing into it's throat. The vile child of Lamashtu crumples in a spray of smoking, arid blood.
8 misses and is an error. GM activates it with one die, for 1d6 points subdual. Roll is 6. Save is 5 vs 15, the wolf is now Fatigued I. 17 hits, doing 12 points of damage. Demonb fails it's save and is dead.
Shyla attacks the wrathspawn next to her, to no avail as it dodges her determined attemtps to kill it.
Divia, through keen Elven senses and maybe just a little luck or blessing from the Savored Sting spots the Quasit playing games and fires two precious Nexavaran Steel tipped arrows at her. Sadly they go wide, clattering off the cathedral's roof. She's pointed out where the little demon is for the moment though.
After she looses her arrows, Divia hears movement in the hallway behind them, something shuffling and multiple somethings with clattering claws.
2 and 10 both miss. Mr A, Divia's at -2 from the Cathedral's aura, and -2 from sickened
The wrathspawn by the triangular pool hisses and attacks Volokkor, it's claws battering wolf before it clamps down on the back of Volokkor's neck. It throws the wolf to the ground and hisses, spreading it;s jaw wide as the battered, bleeding wolf struggles his way back to his feat.
Rolls are 22, 21, and 14. All hit. Damage rolls are 6, 7, and 5, with each getting a 2 point Stress kicker. Lethal damage reduces Volokkor to 0 Vitality and 9 wounds. Volokkor gains another grade of Fatigued. Volokkor's stress saves are 15 vs 12, 4 vs 14, and 12 vs 11, gaining a grade of Shaken. Volokkor rolls a 2 vs the sickening effect, and a 13 vs the enraging. The wolf is sickened for 4 rounds.
Mandy luunges for the wrathspawn, missing it cleanly.
Teo concetrates on his prayers, imploring the Inheritor, but the only thing he hears is the hyena like cackle of the Mother of Monsters laughing at his pleas.
GM spends an action die, Teo takes 1 point of stress (grumble, grumble, damn dice). Teo makes his save.
Alden implores Iomedae, calling upon her strength and hatred of the dark and evil, his sword glowing brighter.
Alden succeeds his Resolve check.
Paiter draws his main gauche and slips past the wrathspawn's sweeping claws with some fancy footwork and acrobatics dredged up from his days fighting on deck, his aging bones protesting the whole way. As he comes up behind the wrathspawn, he's shocked to see the light from Alden's sword flare, so brightly it should blind them, if only briefly... but it doesn't. Instead everyone feels a strengthening, bolstering presesnce driving back the fear and darkness. The quasit screeches and something howls in fury as it's driven from the place.
Roll is 24 vs 15. Catodon plays Marked by the Gods. Not only does the -2 get wiped out, you guys get a +2 to everything for the rest of the combat.
The wrathspawn next to Argan hisses and attacks the young man, connecting with one of it's claws.
The rolls are 14, 18, and 15. Miss, hit, miss. Damage roll is 7 lethal and 2 stress. Argan makes his Stress save.
The wrathspawn between Paiter and Alden hisses in the light, steps back, and turns to attack Paiter, one of it claws slipping past his guard.
Rolls are 10, 21, 7. Miss, hit and miss. Damage is 5 lethal, 2 stress. Paiter rolls 22 to save.
The wrathspawn fighting Shyla circles her and attacks, but she evades it's flailing with contemptuous ease.
Rolls are 11, 9, and 13. All misses.
