Electronics picks will be severely limited, applying mostly to radios, both tactical and base units. It can also apply to what would be modern day common items, recording equipment, transmitting equipment, and the like. Recodings to reel to reel tape for example do exist, but they are not portable. It can be applied to 'computer access' which is to say rights to peruse the data base of Liberty's super computer.
The computer is the 5th floor of the builiding. It is the largest most effecient of it's time. It houses a host of information in it's database about crimnals nationally and internationally, is capable of processing data amazingly fast, and has access to an encyclopedia of information about other topics. Obviusly, this computer is not portable, nor directly accesible from remote locations, but you may ask people to retrieve information for you with this level 2 pick.
About the only 'portable' option is radios which as I mentioned earlier, are about 2 feet long, 8 inches wide, and weigh about 12 lbs.
There are no caliber 4 or 5 electronic picks available from this agency.
Arsenal, Firestar and White Rose decide to try to move into mob circles, White Rose suggesting they focus on Ghost.
White Rose has long suspected a man named Phil Shepton as being someone who answers to ghost. He appears to be the owner of several blues club, but some of those clubs are often hotbeds for organized activity belonging to ghost.
Rose of course knows where to find several lower level bookies and such who no doubt work for ghost, at least indirectly, though they may not have much high level information.
No matter which mob family you choose to investigate, It's a matter of what level you want to pursue. You may tryu to move into the higher levels, but attacking 'honest citizens' may lead to a host of pr and legal nightmares if it goes awry. However, they are sometimes easier to coerce, as they have the most to fear as far as things to lose, if you are using brute force. A simple request to talk to them however might go just as well, and be less debilitating for pr and reputation.
You may attack the lowest level, thugs and street informants. Easy to find, easy to accomplish, with very few recirprocations, but they may know nothing.
You can attack a medium level enforcer. Such people will likely be defended, but will not cause very much negative pr. They are likely to know a bit more than the lowest level thugs, and in the case of any mobster except ghost, likely to have some personal ties to the boss. Because they face so much pressure as 'middle management' they are among the least likely to talk and cooperate.
so do you intend to pursue information about Spider through Ghost specifically, and at what level and method do you intend to pursue.
Eidolen:
Eidolen goes along for the press confrence and keeps things from getting out of hand when suggesting that Brendan is not fit to run his fathers businesses, partly by suggesting that what's really important is that Brendan has the support of al lthe competent people within the organization.
The press is steered away from questions about Justices death, as 'it is still a police matter'
Brendan comes away looking a little clumsy in the face of pressure from the press, but it seems he has effective lietenent who may carry the organizations along. Much talk is brought up of Justice manufacturing interests, and their importance to the economy of Chicago.
Brendan is unsure how to answer, though he intends to keep things operating exactly as they are since they were largely autonomous anyway, he doesn't want to appear like he isn't doing anything, so he stammers at the question.
Eidolen has some time to think about the question and what he'd like to say to the press about the responsibilities of a millionaire industarlist to the people of Chicago. (and anythign else he'd like to add as well)
: Anything eidolen adds will adjust the opinions of the reporters, hence the reports. At this point most reporters are considered Intrigued by Bredan, and freindly to Eidolen. You may use any skill to modify further towards and even more favorable report.
Tempest finds nothign on her own that she has not already found. she searches for quite a while looking through fragments of the desk and other rubble. Whatever was here must have burned up.
After this she joins Shepherd (indirectly) as they are both talking to a few security guards, only to learn that things were mostly quiet.
"There was some incident somewhere..let me look that up...Apparently there were some people outside but they were run off quickly enough..
Chronicle reads all this in the reports of course, and spots some details that "Flanagan the guard" didn't really recalls enough to bring up in his conversation, since the trauma of what would to come after erased it from his mind. It seems Flanagan had spotted a two suspicous looking type outside some side doors about 20 minutes before the explostion. Flanagan asked if they needed help twice, and both times they appeared distracted, as if waiting for something.
Later when they left, his report reads 'the three of them have left." But all earlier reports suggest only two people. Uopn further investigation, the third person was dressed differntly than the others in dark but practical gear, instead of suits.
Long Iron, Stitch and Enigma are still considering their options, trying to be open if someone should find they are needed.
