Cone The weapon deals damage in a Cone (Page XX - depending on game) measured from the central muzzle of the weapon. Roll to hit determines Reflex save DC for half damage, all within the cone's area are subject to its damage.

Example:
Ribald* 4d6 lethal 19–20 120 ft. Cone, Cone, Load 13, Stationary, Unreliable L/— Hard 4 18W 200 lbs. Reason 600s
* You must have the Siege Weapons forte to be proficient with this exotic weapon.

The Auld Grump, I think that I will need to clean up the language later....

FWIW - the Orc and specifically Rootwalker racial craftsmanship deal with these same issues, and might provide some ideas on pricing. I would caution against treating Subdual damage as an "inferior" type - though it doesn't kill outright (though it can after a target's unconcious), it is the fastest way to shortcut a high level character's massive vitality. Also, in FC it is no longer subject to double DR as it was in Spycraft 2.0 - that alone makes it far more affecting than you might be lead to believe Smiley

Maybe have it reduce it's damage die size?  A wooden sword probably wouldn't deal the sort of damage an actual truncheon would, or even as much as it would with an actual edge.  I'd even consider making its construction Hard/1 personally - as it stands this upgrade makes a rapier harder to break, and with the feat chain a base damage type of subdual lets the player pick from any of the big three [subdual, stress and lethal].  Plus many swords are already Hard/2, and wood should be easier to break then steel.

I have a similar upgrade in my game, it requires Hard 2 or better (looking over the Constructions most Hard 1 weapons, like Rapier, would have pretty combat-ineffective training variants), and lowers the weapon's Construction by 1 (from Hard 2 to 1, for example). Though, really, in FC a Quarterstaff is just as hard to break as a Longsword, so that doesn't have a whole lot of basis.

For damage, if you think it's necessary, I'd say either give it a -1 or remove/lower a weapons Armor Piercing, if it has it.

READING ALEX'S BRAIN

 Shocked

I obviously need to upgrade my tinfoil hat technology. More than half than that stuff is virtually verbatim from my notes.

Your problem may be that you're using Aluminum Foil for your hat, rather than Tinfoil. :p

He's found us out! We've been compromised! Cut all communications!

Edit: Seriously, though, I think I must generally be on a similar wavelength to one of you guys, a lot of the stuff from the errata matched up with house rules and changes I'd already done as well.
