So for those of us on the other side of the world...

What's the crafty news from Gencon?

World on Fire is allllllmost here.  Book will be supported by 7-8 PDF supplements.

Ten Thousand Bullets is very close, and looks like a million bucks.

Farthest Star, Crucible, and Shatterpunk are underway.

FantasyCraft is coming, and the cover is absolutely awesome.

The above may be conjecture, deliberate paraphrase, or outright bullshit.

The LSPY premiere was probably too tough.

Don't tell me, immediately after the release we will be swamped with them?

If the cover on the Mongoose site is real then it looks like million stolen bucks.

Not quite, but things will certainly pick up overall once the first couple of books are out of the gate. At this time, blame US customs for the lack of Spycraft at GenCon.

That's the one. The whole thing is f'ing awesome.

Oh, and for those of you who heard about the DnD 4 (or DnD: Jumping the Shark, as I like to call it) announcement - Fantasycraft should (all going well) be out in time to snap up all those gamers disillusioned by the changes that they make. Oh, and there wasn't a single boo during the Crafty seminar Wink

I've got some photos, but they'll have to wait till I get home on Thursday.

I'm mostly really interested in Farthest Star and what the plans for that are. (Being a sci fi geek) Especially whether or not there's going to be a print version. (There should be right, because mongoose is now practically POD?)

I missed the WotC/RPGA meeting.  Were there a lot of boos?

I'd say theres a fair amount of variability to that questions

Membership: Varies, depends on when you buy it, how long you stay for, etc..from $40.00 - $80.00

Gas and Transportation: Depends on how you get there and where you are coming from..Between .25 cents, and $650.00 appx (flying from overseas with no notice on a first class airline)

Hotel: You could sleep in a car or a lobby, bathe in the bathrooms. Or you could stay at the hyatt for 200.00 a night..so between 0 and 1000.00

Food: You can bring a loaf of bread and some lunchmeat from kroger or you can eat at fancy restaraunts 3 times a day..so between 1.00 and 200.00 a day.

So the answer to your question is somewhere between
$44.25 - $2,330.00

Sorry, but it all depends on how you like to travel..and how comfortable you want to be when you are there..I've actually done both extremes, going to cons hitchhiking while unemployed or traveling to cons on other peoples expense account...

I wish i could fly to America first class for only $650 AUD from Australia....

Id say its likely to cost a minimum of $2000 return for travel, and thats just for Economy class.

It's about €1000 (about $1350 USD) just to get to New York and back in economy class.
