Having had the Firewarrior experience:
It's just mediocre. Bad level designs, wonky weapons, ugly models (didn't know I was killing Space Marines til I worked out that I'd scavaged a Bolter disguised as a butt-fugly wad of grey pixels) incongruent story and moronic AI -just a weak-ass game for a power-house license. Come to think of it might have been ...mated to the Quake 1 (or perhaps 2) engine.
WH40K is wierd like that. Bunch of strange titles developed by incompetent studios that just fail to express the universe's potential -prior to DoW. Blame GW?
*cue meaningful glance at SWd20 take 1*

A few bright parts: Tech Priests carried Plasma Pistols and used mini-Void Shields. Killing one meant overloading the shield until it imploded and crushed the chanting, shooting bastard into shrieking wad of meat.
+1 for that.

Rest was weak.

Mmm... feeding tentacles Grin

What I'd love to see is a 40k FPS with that level of graphics. It wouldn't be too feasible when you consider the usually high mortality rate found in the setting, but it would be kewl.

Play an inquisitor -> they just need to slap together a combobulation of the Starwars: Force Unleashed engine and Mass Effect together, change a few powers, reflavour a few that they keep [thats assuming you take the Psyker path], and alter the level up tree's [nick that concept from Too Human].

End result: An alternatable Third / First person shooter that allows you to have the option of ether mentally slinging around enemies with Psyker powers, or getting your terminator ontm and whomping stuff into tiny bits with a big hammer, all while giving your retinue limited commands [having them chiefly rely on well programed AI to dictate actions] and allowing for both functional melee and firearms combat.

I should totally be in games design.

Fire Warrior's one redeeming feature was the cut scenes. The boarding action was fantastic. The rest of the game was a bit poo.
