Yeah, with the recent move and the new baby soon arriving my access/free time is limited. Sorry about that man. I'll update whenever I can.  Undecided

Oh, I'm not complaining. Just making sure nobody's dead or anything.  Smiley

Of course, with the laser-packin' robot right here, somebody could get dead pretty fast. Can we discern where the weapon port is at? Is it just a mounted-on rifle-looking thing?

Robo-Brains have their weapons mounted inside their arms, and the muzzle is the middle of the three clawed "hand."

Alice is about to suggest that Hondo push the body of the scientist guy to the front, and that Else speak "for him."

And if that starts to go pear shaped, plug your ears.  Lady Joan wins arguments by shouting the loudest...

... It's Weekend at Bernie's!
I've not seen that classic of modern cinema in quite some time.  Sad

Hondo keeps Bernie the scientist slung against him haphazardly, just in case.   ...
We never did get his name.  Maybe we should just start calling him Bernie

Sorry I haven't posted.  About a week ago my computer took a dump on me with recurring BSODs.  I finally found out my HD was the culprit, so I had to put in a new one and reinstall everything.  Finally got that done.

Yuck. I'm seriously considering one of those online backup services (Carbonite or Mozy) for just such a fiendish event. Anybody use one of them?

The HD that died had my OS on it, so it was hard to actually use the computer until I got a replacement drive.  The good news is, the drive was under warranty, so they are going to replace it.  The bad news is the temp one I am using is smaller and slower, which means when I get the replacement drive, I have more work ahead of me.

In general, I am not a fan of online backup services.  I prefer using an external hard drive to store my back ups.  For about the same price as a 2 year plan from Carbonite, you can get a 2 TB Free Agent external drive from Seagate.  I believe it even comes with software to automatically back up your computer periodically, but you may want to verify that to be sure.  I have an older 500GB external drive from Seagate I use for that purpose.

Bill - don't worry. I haven't exactly been paying attention the last few months. Anyway, with LotR on hold, hopefully we can wrap up this adventure in a timely manner. You're about to move onto the final scene anyway. As to how long it'll be, well...  Roll Eyes

Right, I need to know who's doing what and where before we can move on.

Hondo - using 'bernie' to help Alice talk the 'bots around
Frank - ?
Marcus - investigating downstairs
Elsie - fixing her hair until Alice finds her a bot to sweet talk
Alice - looking for a terminal to hack

Please check this is all kosher and confirm in the OOC thread.

Frank's heading out with Marcus. Not that he'll help calming the kiddies or anything, just that we shouldn't be alone in this place.

"I'm the roadrunner, and the administrator is the coyote," Alice said with a triumphant grin.  "This system is MINE.  Now let us witness the power of this fully operational death star..."

Next we need to dig into security, and make sure that all security doors and robots and IFF systems see us as friends.  This really can't take too much interruption, but that search may take a bit.

Likewise a search for connected security systems.  Cameras should help tell us what the eff is going on in here.

Then we remove root privileges from all other accounts.  This should be a bit subtle, and start with finding out if anyone is logged in.  The longer we go before someone notices, the better.
What am I forgetting that Alice should know to adjust?
