So, nominate an area and make a Search/Perception check. Be sure to tell me how long you're taking, as it will affect your DC.

Since we have a list of their targets could we make a Knowledge Roll using Tactics to prioritize the target importance in defending Empire City?

If anyone can say which is most important, Marcus will head there, otherwise, he is starting with the closest location.  If the armory is in the basement, it will probably be there, otherwise it sounds like the Main Street-level entrance.

Since we don't know how long we have, Marcus won't spend more than 10 minutes searching any particular area.

Was that "let's join the Enclave" to the rest of the PCs or the prisoner?

If you are talking to the PCs, whether or not we can ally with the Enclave is really irrelevant while there may literally be ticking time bombs stashed around Empire.  I had also considered trying to contact the Brotherhood for backup, but again, ticking time bombs kind of take precedence.

You mentioned talking to Hondo, which led me to believe I'd stepped out into the hall to have a conversation in between interrogation rounds or something.

By all means, look for bombs (Hondo isn't much for searching, so he'll keep grilling the prisoner). I'm just thinking Empire's got an opportunity to join the Enclave from something resembling a position of strength, and that position won't last through an Enclave frontal assault.

That certainly is true.  Too bad I don't think Alice has enough time to take the virus apart and use it to muck up the Enclave IFFs.  It would hamper their plans if the turrets on the vertibirds decided the Enclave guys were hostile...

That was my assumption, I just wanted to make sure.

So unless his knowledge roll indicates one of the target sites is much more important than the others in terms of defending Empire from attack, Marcus is going to start with the closest site and work out from there and we'll give each site 10 minutes of searching.

On a side note, there is another problem with allying with the Enclave.  They are looking for us specifically for destroying their flying monstrosity.  Any deal with the Enclave is probably going to require Empire to hand us over to the them for "trial".

They don't seem to know it was us, and may not make that connection at all.  That said, we could help Empire State get the best deal possible with the Enclave, then never come back again.

True, but they know, or at least strongly suspect, that Empire is harboring the fugitives who destroyed the ark.  That means Empire will probably have to turn somebody over in the negotiations, either us or someone taking the fall for us.

I suspect the Enclave can identify the people who were locked up in the Ark, who can identify us.  Keeping the Enclave out is the best thing, but I'm not sure we can pull that off.

Moving their bombs onto their approach vectors, so when they set them off they blow themselves up is one thing.

How much power armor does then Enclave actually have?  We definitely can make their attack expensive, even if we can't blunt it entirely.

That's the reason I wanted to get the Brotherhood involved.  They are the only entity I have seen that even comes close to the Enclave, technologically speaking.  The trick is going to be finding and convincing them to help.

Would the Brotherhood like a shot at accessing a Vault?  A Vault that seems to have some external communications capability.  I don't think they would do it just for revenge against the Enclave, but the Vault will have valuable information the scribes would cheerfully kill to acquire.

I'm not sure how the east coast hardliners would value a trade of protection for information, but it would be several assloads of information.

Keep in mind I come into this as the only player in the group who's never played Fallout.  Smiley

Given what we've seen so far, the Enclave's a tidal wave. It's just a matter of when they land on you--you can't outlast them. Trying to get the Brotherhood involved sounds like a good short-term plan, but ultimately the Brotherhood can't save Empire from the Enclave. Sooner or later the two parties are going to have to come to the table, and the higher the body-count climbs the harder it's going to get for everybody to come away satisfied with the results.

If we *can* cobble together an alliance wider than just the Brotherhood (maybe with the NYPD as well? The Rangers?) that's a good thing. There are groups in town who might come together under some sort of Confederate banner behind Empire if it's that or extermination by the Enclave.  Bringing down the ark and extending the promise of a long, bloody pacification of Ny City may get the Enclave to pull old New York back in the old-fashioned way: by actually allowing State representation in whatever passes for Congress now.

Unknown, but every soldier on the Ark was wearing it. It also matches up to no pre-war power armor you've ever read about. It appears to be original post war R&D...

Ask Jim. However, you're fairly sure that the answer would be 'hell yes'.

You... might be surprised there.

The Rangers will more than likely help, as may some of the gangs. That said, you have no idea if the Ny City Police Deprtment are compromised or not. They seem to be rather 'official'.

I like this - keep it up!

Thank you!  You need to set him right!  Angry   Grin

I think what we really need to know now is how long we have before the Enclave attacks.  If the attack is commencing tonight, rounding up allies will be tough.  If they are laying prep work for an attack in a week or two, we have more breathing room and options.
