I wonder what it would be like to look inside the head of the person who designed this... or the exec who approved it.

I have found it's not the originator of the idea that I question, but the schmuck that said... "Hey, that's a great idea."

A lot of bad ideas would never reach realization, if people had honest friends, peers, family.

With 4 magical horns & 3 figures to impale!

It's not a great idea (for a kid's toy), though I might give one to a friend or put it on my bookself.

I'm not sure this is true, nor that it should be. It is often brought up that many genius pioneers succeeded by not listening to their peers. Ray Bradbury,  Andy Warhol, Andy
Kauffman the trivial pursuit guys, Bill Gates, and many others perservered even when the world told them they were crazy. "You'll never make a living doing it that way" How many comics, entertainers and such were told this? Alot, and we all marvel at the amazing pererverance and how they changed the world around them by being themselves. What we fail to think about when we hear these stories, is about how many people who followed there heart and did their own thing when everyone told them not to, only to find out that 'everyone' was right, and they did indeed suck.

But the only way to succeed is to try really stupid stuff that couldn't possibly work, and do it anyway. More often than not, you will end in miserable failure. But those few diamonds in the rough who make it through, redefine the world as we know it.

Hey, the Addams family kids need toys too!

Barring the children's toy angle, that is something that would probably appeal to adults/teens, I know I laughed when I followed the link.

My sister got one as a present from her boy friend a couple of years ago. It's actually possible to get the mime, the yuppie and the new ager all on the horn at one, but the rather squat unicorn pitches over at that point.

I bought this for the AEG Christmas Gift Exchange a few years back.

I love that it comes with a banana. So delightfully wrong.

And in a discussion like this how can someone fail to mention this particular movie tie-in?

Or this handy bat-gadget from back in day?

It's not the originator of the idea that I'm criticizing, but the ones around them that said: "Hey, that's a great idea!"

It's one to persevere because something you believe in or your art, it's another to have someone else think it's a good idea for you to jump off bridge at night, when the river is low.
