First thing's first!  Hello folks!  Love the game!

Now onto the questions... Smiley

I'm hoping to sell some people on using this game to do some world building... It seems very capable, and it's the first FRPG that I've seen that manages to do that AND be fun to play.  The new crop of games seems to do one or the other, but not both.  I haven't played it yet, but looking at things like action dice, I'm guessing the play is pretty dynamic.

I'm not fond of attribute penalties.  Won't ramble on much about why, but something I was toying with doing was allowing players to negate one -2 penalty.  Thus allowing...  a non-stupid wood elf.  Tongue

I don't want to throw balance off though.  I could just offer everyone a +2 to one attribute, but I don't want to encourage people to go for the 20 in one stat.  My group is a fairly RP heavy and mature, but a flat +2 seems a bit heavy in the other direction...

Hopefully I've explained myself well enough!  Ideas?

Two actually:

You give them the Hidden Promise feat for free.

Or you take a look at the origin creation pages and redesign the Races and Talents your players want to negate the penalty.

Hidden Promise is good, not looking to redesigning all the races... like a lot of what is already there.  Thanks!

Edit:  It's just a matter of re-wording the feat and giving it as an extra to all PC's.  This would give the PC the option of negating a racial or human talent penalty (Max of +2, so that a -3 would become a -1), or increasing your lowest score by 2.  This makes the PC's a little bit more heroic, a cut above the rest.

They already are.

Average NPC stat is 10.
'Average' PC stat is 13.

If you really want higher stats, just turn Larger then Life Heros on, without allowing them to buy above 18.

In addition to what Krensky posted - you can give them more then the 40pts for Larger then Life heroes, give them 42 if you want, or even more.  Just make sure your players understand that starting with all 8's and a 24 is a bad idea.

Another idea, is to slightly alter the species feats - you don't want Wood Elves having -2 Int, change it to something else that fits your vision of the campaign world.
