Is it bad that I'm seeing GirlFriday now as Daphne, Jim as Velma, and Bill as Fred?

... before whatever happens gets us removed from the vault...
I'm soooo sorry.  *sniffles*  It wasn't supposed to work like that.  I just needed a little more juice from that Mr Handy's core to damp the flux, *scratches the bandage covering a third of my face and winces.*  It woulda gotten ridda ALL the radroaches, and it almost worked.  **Crosses my arms with a huff and tries not to sulk while I think of how the machine could be rebuilt better.**

Oh come now, it wasn't your fault.  *sigh*  It's mine.  I shouldn't have authorized the Mr. Handy requisition after you told me what you needed it for.

*Sobs lightly* It would have been so beautiful.  That kind of initiative would have really made the overseer sit up and take notice if it had worked.

It's not a total loss.  **Crouches to rummage in my pack.**  He was practically made of bits.  Ok, he was made of bits.  I've got a bunch of them.  **Starts to rummage.**  Water condenser, some sensors, ooh!  I had some time so I fixed up the buzzsaw.  **Pulls out Mr. Handy's saw ex-arm, now with a handle, some buttons and two switches.**  Think Antilles will want this?  It's not a normal ripper, but I think it'll work just as good.

At least you managed to salvage something from the Mr. Ha...wait, a saw arm?

That's perfect!

We'll just get Girlfriday to stand on top of the highest hill around.  Then, once she has attracted some hungry beast and lured it close enough, Antilles can kill it with the saw.  That should give us a few days of food and coupled with the water condenser we can survive until we at least get our bearings out here.

**Pulls out a collapsible baton and offers it to Friday.**  It's got a button.  If the critter tries to eat you, point the thin end at it and push the button.  The blighter will go flying!  Or you can just give it a flick and have a right handy little club.

[I suppose before we consign ourselves to the wilderness inquire of the GM what we can get away with nicking from the vault?]

Smokers? Do people smoke in the vaults? They sure did in the 50's.  Smiley

Plenty of folks outside the Vaults do, I never saw any cigarettes inside the Vaults though.  They were all smoked?

Test Subject specialty? Is there room for a mutation like these? Or would such a specimen get incinerated early on "for everyone's safety?"

As an FYI, my original Scout concept is apparently untenable, both mechanically and flavor-wise (since we've a-never left the vault and b-*I* don't know a whole lot about the world outside the vaults anyway). So for ease of use, I'm thinking I'll be a burly garbage burner with big dreams. So Test Subject-wise, I'm looking at DR or strong-minded (he's too thick to get hurt, and too dense to recognize when he's being threatened).

Was there ever a rule on Radiation damage, and will it apply in this game?

The Fallout world uses much more Science! than science, so a good blast of radiation that doesn't kill you gives decent odds on a beneficent mutation or two.

An easy explanation for the dose, as long as you don't go Large, would be the blast from that overloaded Mr. Handy core.

Heh...

My Tylor clone will fit right in. He'll even start with his own harem.

I feel the need to duck now...

I'm thinking Witty Stranger Chrarismatic Hero focusing on fast talk, luck, affability, and coolness under fire.

The fluff on Stranger doesn't fit, but the mechanics do.

Pardon me while I take the Rusty Old Monkey Wrench out of Wrench Wench and thump your head with it.   Tongue

I'm looking at Gonzo Tradeswoman Fast Hero going for modifying it, fixing it, sneaking in to set it up, and escaping when it goes kerblam.  (Except the guns, those will stay right here and work right.)
