I know that many of you have also played Soldier of Fortune 2 and remember the level with the cargo ship.  I am looking for maps of such a ship for an upcoming adventure.  Also, I'm looking for RPG maps (easy to read) not actual schematics (hard to read).  Smiley

Links appreciated so that I don't have to go back and play the game and map it while I'm playing. Smiley

Do you want a tanker or a dry bulk carrier?  They're vastly different up close.  Oh, and how big?  (Keeping in mind that a modest tanker or bulker is between five and six hundred feet long.)

Basically I'm looking for a large enough ship that there's lots of room for exploring but not so complicated that I have a labrynith at sea.   If it's one of the civilian nuclear ships that could be interesting too.

I haven't started with my plot yet so I might also go with a Carnival Cruise ship, which I do have general deck plans for.

Currently I'm thinking of a Pirate hostage situation (where the pirates know about snipers and lifeboats already).  Smiley

If I go with the cruise ship, it'll be a situation where the agents' vacation is interupted.

All four nuclear cargo ships have been decomissioned or converted to diesel.

The Russians still have a couple atomic ice breakers that can carry some cargo.  Those babies will run you a pretty penny.

If they won't think to go in the ballast tanks, that will work.  If they go in them, forget it, it's a pitch dark labyrinth.  Also, most cargo ships have rather simple layouts.  It doesn't get any sort of complicated until you get into the crew/engine area, and even then the layout makes sense.

I doubt anyone would flag a nuclear ship, and most port states would go apes*** if an atomic plant showed up.

That's not going to work out well unless they stay outside of Everyone's EEZs, and then they'll turn up on the satellite and be investigated.  Plus getting decent crewmen to man her, bloody expensive.

Okay, I'll stick to conventional engines. The crew thanks you!   Anyone have deckplans? Smiley

If you're prepared to spend a little bit of money, then the Twilight 2000/Merc 2000 Special Operations supplement has some deckplans for a cargo ship.
