The Myriad Monikers of Gotham's Villains

This massive taxonomy charts the hundreds of villains who have menaced Gotham City over the past 70 years, breaking down by name everyone from big time baddies like the Joker and Bane to lesser known miscreants like the Walrus and Batzarro. A true rogues gallery of the superstitious and cowardly lot who have taken on the Dark Knight, this print is the definitive guide to Gotham mayhem.

Having clicked that link, I wish to convey the utter horror it brings.
Oh, it sounds whimsical. But part of your childhood will die in utter terror as you're forced to understand that Catman, Mr. Asp and Son of Pyg actually happened.
"At night I wear a wolf's head on my normal head." -Aesop Rock.

Catman is awesome, and living proof of the duality of Gail Simone

Just the latest of the really... poor... decisions made by the folks running the Big 2.

Like their looking at The Hunger Games and Battle Royale and saying "Hey, these are popular, so we'll do this!"

Quote
Avengers Arena #1, December 2012

Trapped on an isolated island, 16 superhuman young adults (including cult faves like members of the Runaways, The Avengers Academy and Darkhawk) are given a chilling ultimatum by their demented captor: Fight or die…only one will walk out alive! Thus begins a primal battle that will test the skills, stamina and morals of each combatant. Welcome to Murder World, where the secrets are plenty, alliances are fleeting, and the key to victory might be rewriting the rules of the game. Who will survive? We dare you to tune in to your new favorite comic NOW!

Yeah, I chuckled rather loudly when I read that story.

It's not even that the comic looks that bad - just that the timing is so craven.

Excellent read.

Re: Spiderman
Why am I not surprised.  I got into comic books in the 80's and while I never really left, the constant upheaval of story-lines and reboots have left me out in the cold too often for me to have the same love for the genre that I once had.

CBR is nuking its forums and starting over

Taken from the website:

"Two weeks ago, that long-growing ugliness became more pronounced than ever. CBR published an article by guest contributor Janelle Asselin, critiquing the cover to DC Comics’ upcoming "Teen Titans" #1. Some of you liked the article, some of you didn’t. We encouraged readers to share their feedback in the CBR Forums.

Unfortunately, what happened next was unacceptable — so-called “fans” around the Internet, on various message boards and social media, including the CBR Forums, attacked Janelle personally, threatening her with rape and assault. These same “fans” found her e-mail, home address and other personal information, and used it to harass and terrorize her, including an attempted hacking of her bank account.

All over a comic book cover critique. Just think about that for a second.

If you’re one of the people who participated in any of these reprehensible acts, my message is simple: You are not welcome anywhere on CBR, and in our opinion, you have no place in the comics industry.”

Umh.... I don't read much Marvel Comics lately... but there's a lot of characters there that I tought long and definetly dead... Or it's just a guide of the history of the Avengers?

Anyway, Acuña is great.

My guess is that it's anyone who's ever served on an Avengers team over the last 50 years
