I'm working on a custom homebrew world; Sarūnia.

Sarunia tweaks dwarves and elves, the classes and has a very different feel than most standard fantasy campaigns!

EDIT: Changed thread title.

I'ts been awhile since I've been openly active on these boards and I've made quite a bit of progress on my setting.

Y'think maybe you wanna go post this on the Pathfinder site instead? The Fantasy game we play here is called Fantasy Craft. Posting links to material for FC's biggest rival right here on its proverbial doorstep just comes off as rude.

While we respect Pathfinder for what it is, we do NOT really discuss it here.

If people want me to stop posting updates I will. I just thought that since we're all gamers and most of us like to try different systems, that this wouldn't be a problem.

This really is a one game kinda forum for Pen and pencil RPG's. Now if you wanted to use Fantasy Craft for your world we would be all over helping and commenting on that.

I don't really mind Pathfinder being discussed here.

We are in the off topic forum where we discuss things like Smallville; Dr. Who; movies; various random links, both video and non-video; music and a collection of notable dead people for the past couple of years.

And we're going to quibble over someone wanting to talk about Pathfinder here?  This is the Off-Topic forum and it's more related to Fantasy Craft than most things.  At least Pathfinder is a tabletop RPG.

Or is it not quite off-topic enough to qualify for this forum?

Happiness!

It would be less out of place with the setting conversions in Licensed to Improvise. People could discuss the integrity of Sarūnia's backstory and more easily riff on any new mechanics.

I've been eying a couple of the threads that have cropped up lately - specifically this and the Con-Quest one - but I'm not quite ready to call them out of bounds yet. Yes, this is a forum dedicated to Crafty Games' audience and products but part of that first bit, especially here in Off Topic, is letting you guys indulge a bit. Besides, I occasionally post about Delta Green and some other games, and I'd hate to be (justifiably) called a hypocrite for saying other folks can't do likewise.

There's a line, of course, and I think it resides in the collective gut definition of "occasionally." The Con-Quest thread almost went too far IMHO, mainly because we saw pretty constant updates there for what? Three weeks? It was a bit too aggressive for me but as only one person complained - and just mildly - I let it slide. We probably won't let other conventions get away with quite that level of traffic though - except those we attend or which rep us well, anyway. Smiley

TAD, we appreciate your contributions, especially the latest as it's for a partner site (Pathfinder Database is a kissin' cousin to the Fantasy Craft Database), but let's keep the Pathfinder traffic to a slow trickle for the time being.

Thanks!

Well, I was actually seething, but since it's not my place to (try to) run these forums, I didn't vent all the steam I had. Smiley

Personally, I think there is no greater disrespect than to use another person's/company's forum to advertise your product without their express permission.

Just a wee Koala and his 2 pence.  While it is about Pathfinder, there are some ideas that can be easily hijacked and imported into an FC world.

This I can understand. Would a fair compromise be updating this thread only once a month, with links to all new updates?

I think that's fine, but I say this from my perspective at this moment. Things could change - say, if we get a deluge of like threads (which I don't expect), or there's a general uprising against it from the forum base.
