I was wondering when the 2nd printing of Fantasy Craft will be out? Will the errata be incorporated? Any word on a GM Screen?

  Thanks!

There is no current plans for a second printing of Fantasy Craft. When the book runs down on stock, we will look at reprinting, but a second printing leaves retailers who have not cleared their shelves of the previous printing stuck with "out of date" copies of the book. Besides, the official first round of errata is not even compiled yet Smiley

GM screen will have more news in the next month or two.

Any news on the GM screen?

I'd buy it, if only on the off chance it has a chart for stating NPCs from stat blocks (as seen on pg. 229 in the core book).

And the sliding DCs chart from pg. 370 of the Core book, please ...

If nothing else, I think it is safe to say there is a market for such an item.

I'm not yet sure if I'd actually use such a product, but I can say I'd buy one either way. Smiley

There is a market (just like there's a market for everything, really - it's all about long tail economics), but the quesiton is, can that market support the costs required to produce and market a screen through sales? Money and time, both being finite resources, mean that the effort impact other projects like books as well. Screens are complicated to produce mainly because of the materials required to make them and the art required for them both significantly affect their cost curve. Traditionally, they have also not been very strong sellers in the market. However, game aids seem to be enjoying a bit of a renaissance in the industry nowadays so it might do OK.

Should we do a screen, it will probably come as a ransom model project, with people committing cash towards the goal, and reaping the reward when the project breaks the necessary amount. That gives us both an indicator of actual interest and the capital necessary to produce and distribute it without adversely affecting other projects.

Would bundling the screen with other material help sales? Throw in an adventure or two, maybe some printed maps.

I like the sound of a ransom Screen, too. That seems to be working quite well for [miniatures company whose name I forgot], and could be a good use for the new Crafty webstore.

I know I would certainly ADORE a gm screen for FC to minimize flipping open the book, even if I took notes ahead of time for the adventure, there can always be that one moment where you go "uhhh...." and have to crack the book for one reason or another.
