For those of you getting to the boards without reading the news, head on over to the front page and check it out! We just announced our schedule for the next year, including Spycraft Third Edition, Ten Thousand Bullets, and a slew of supplements for Fantasy Craft. Plus there's a stack of other company updates too - our departure from Mongoose, new online store coming, and more.

Now on to the discussions! Hm... I wonder what the first Spycraft Third thread will be...  Smiley

Just when I didn't think it was possible for you guys to be more awesome, you go ahead and do something like this.  I'm massively happy about everything in the state of the company announcement [and happened to check for new threads about a second after it was posted].

Initial response... woah!

Secondary response... sweet!

Interesting to see you're breaking from Mongoose. What will that mean for this year's GenCon? (Ahh, just read that you're now with Studio 2. That's kewl.)

Yup. We'll be part of their booth block. We'll post more information as it becomes available.

Just great! Congrats for your independance and for 3rd edition!

Can't wait to see what streamlined gear and FC-like Reputation system will look like for the new edition. I bet it will be just sleek. Smiley

FYI, I've translated the news in French on the Scripto, so we're all watching you from accross the Atlantic as well. No pressure. Wink

We hope so - and we'll do everything we can to make sure it is.  Grin

Hehe. Thanks much Aegis. It's greatly appreciated.

I'm really interested in what the unit of physical currency will be. A re-skinned silver piece, or something with a new value to match the new prices of the times?

We'll be utilizing a variant of the silver standard - you may have heard of it. It's called the (gasp) dollar. Wink

Will the French/German versions be using the Euro instead? Tongue

I often debate the worthiness of conversion tables in modern games, given how quickly they're invalidated. No idea yet where we'll land in the final draft.

And yes, I noticed the tongue - but I'm serious. It's one of the many reasons some games avoid real world economics.

Huhu, well, Euro, Dollar, right now, there is not that much difference. Tongue

On the same topic, but more seriously about distances. Will you keep on using a feet system, or maybe shift for squares?  Roll Eyes

It's not that that much of a problem, is it? IIRC publications of FC in Europe use meters, right? It's probably better to keep using standard units of measurement as it facilitates narrative play as well as tactical.

A little of both. Note how Fantasy Craft handles it - most of the time it's squares for ease and clarity of language in combat, and feet otherwise.
