That could be the single greatest reply ever.
Thank you!

True, so true. Noticed this while waiting for the Emerald Empire book for L5R, it almost went to the printer according to schedule, almost.
One short info, and I'm still waiting to see this book in the list of available books for the system.

At least with L5R and SC 2.0 I know I'm getting a top notch product, while WotC and WW ones are [censored].

At least it went back for the shop for the right reasons.  Maybe if the core book got that extra attention, character creation would actually be in order.  Like Pat said, anything less than a years construction for a major RPG production is a mistake.

Meh, I may be suspicious, but I don't discount them entirely.  I've seen books from both companies along the whole range of the quality scale.  PHB2?  Some nifty crunch in there.  DMG2?  Not only did it seem like a waste of paper, but it looks like they cranked the font size and margin to fill the page count.  Tongue

You know Morg has worked on some of that WotC product, right?  Cheesy  Eberron, I believe, which is the only D&D setting that remotely interests me these days.

Has been WoF printed yet? If not, when will it be printed? How much does it weight?
No, it will never get printed. It will appear from the void, rise from the primordial chaos where all rpg's await their creation, it will come to us riding on a Boss Hoss bike wearing a studded leather tuxedo and smoking a cuban cigar.
That could be the single greatest reply everCheesy

As someone who tries to run an FLGS (or at least, a FLG aisle), I'll tell you how I as a retailer know when a book will be out in stores.

It shows up on my door step.  Undecided

Unless the company starts with "Wizards of the Coast" or "White Wolf", no one in the industry has the organization and resources (i.e. cash) to hit the original announced "street date" with more than a baseball players accuracy.  It's a tough market, and the release goal posts are stunningly spry and coated in silicone, much like Barry Sanders.*

The Death Bus arrives when it feels it's damn good and ready, and not a day sooner.  The Crafty guys are the ones trapped behind the wheel of that bus (or maybe strapped to the grill, it depends on the day).  They are the ones who will see the end of the line first.  Anyone else is at best guessing, blindfolded, under the influence.

*I think I just made a record for sports analogies on this board.

Heh, and White Wolf has missed a date or three, or even out right canceled a title. (I used to play Changeling - the red headed stepchild of the World of Darkness.)

Really?
I guess I should get back to reading my copy, it must get better after the first 200 pages or so. So far it's felt like reading an encyclopedia. I much prefer the way the Eberron core book was written. Mention the exiting stuff, the necessary stuff, and pack all the crunch together instead of distributing it through the flavor text.

How close is the book to be released on Aug. 27? I noticed the date change on the Mongoose website.

Still working on that. You'll hear anything final here first.

Given the problems Mongoose has had in printing lately, I'd probably just wait for the PDF.  Cool

They've just released the first book of Lone Wolf, and many customers are complaining of serious problems with the binding and awkward trimming of pages. Let's hope they get it ironed out.

PDF comes out after the print version according to the arrangement.  Sad

Current date provided on Mongoose's website is Sept. 10th for release of WoF.  Can anyone please confirm or deny this date?

Thanks,
