1. Does this mean the substitution to several lower caliber picks is gone?
Nope. It's been incorporated into each pick/description table (which you wouldn't see unless you own the Second Printing).
2. In similar vein, there is a table providing specific entries for how a high caliber vehicle pick can become a lower one with add-ons. Is this replaced by the rules at the front? (This would mean fewer add-ons for a lower caliber pick in several cases).
It's replaced by the rules at the front + the trade-down option on the vehicle/pick tables, as with everything else.
Ok, so that makes it really hard for me to figure out to do right now (though all will be good when I have the second printing).
Right now, I have that you can make the following vehicle pick trades:
Cal I:
- convert to 2 add-ons (unchanged)
Cal II:
- convert to 4 add-ons (unchanged)
- convert to Cal I + 1 add-on (unchanged, I think)
Cal III:
- convert to 6 add-ons (unchanged)
- convert to any 2 Cal I picks? (no idea if still valid)
- convert to Cal I + 2 add-ons (unchanged, I think)
- convert to Cal II + 1 add-on (new, per revised gear pdf)
Cal IV:
- convert to 8 add-ons (unchanged)
- convert to any 2 Cal II picks? (no idea if still valid)
- convert to Cal I + 5 add-ons (unchanged, I think)
- convert to Cal II + either 3 or 4 add-ons (4 was the first print, revised gear suggests it is 3)
- convert to Cal III + 2 add-ons (new, per revised gear pdf)
Cal V:
- convert to 10 add-ons (unchanged)
- convert to any 2 Cal III picks? (no idea if still valid)
- convert to Cal I + either 6 or 8 add-ons (8 was first print, revised gear suggests it is 6)
- convert to Cal II + 5 add-ons (new, per revised gear pdf)
- convert to Cal III + either 4 or 6 add-ons (6 was first print, revised gear suggests it is 4)
- convert to Cal IV + 2 add-ons (new, per revised gear pdf)
I would appreciate either a "Don't worry, go with what you already did for Gencon and LSpy play until new print comes out" or corrections to the above as needed if I should fix.
Thanks,
Teos
