Is the Wiki restricted? Just curious, when I try to create a page the Body section does not seem to have a fillable field.

Are you using NoScript or anything?

I'm not laughing. Having the exact same problem is why I don't end up contributing anything to the wiki. I can't even follow links to the wiki nodes - I click on them and get dumped to the front page.

Or a flamethrower.  And by flamethrower I mean Firefox.

Or Chrome, or really anything not IE at this point...
or an update to the wiki software...

OR just a big purple laser.

Well, I bought a pretty nice computer for about $370, and it came that way. On the way out the door, I briefly considered whether I should have asked them to package XP instead, but I did not yet know enough about Vista to be certain I would hate it more than XP.

IE 8 is actually kind of nice in some ways. I tend to disable a lot the "helpful" things it does, but I like the way it handles tabs and application extensions.

Check out Firefox 3 [I'm using 3.5.7 if that matters?] - it handles tabs sorta similiar to IE8.  It's also not that large, or even resource hungry, so 99% of functioning computers can run it with zero issues.

In Gods name, why?

Because on my planet the dog wags the tail, not the other way around. I use, if not the most brilliantly executed, certainly one of THE most common of all web browsers. It's kinda a good idea to allow those people to go about their business. Especially when their business just happens to be volunteering time to enhance the value proposition of your website by cataloging and storing the more complete thoughts and contributions from the boards where they can be easily referenced both by do-it-yourself folks prowling the wiki on their own and as a assembly of handy links when a topic comes up in discussion long after the original thread is gone.

Maybe 'm just crazy like that.

Explorer is a significant security flaw and lacks the functionality of its competetors: when it takes only a few minutes to upgrade to one of them, there's no good excuse not to do so short of some short sighted network sysadmin.

Sad to say, I've just replicated the complaint with both 32 and 64 bit versions of the latest IE under Windows 7.
