Attributes: - +2 Con, -2 Cha [1.5]

+2 Specific, -2 Specific is only 1 point.

And....I was wondering if perhaps I can work in them having a natural ability to run on all 4's instead of just two legs.  I wouldn't know how many points an ability like that would be.  Would that just be saying they have a normal 30ft speed, but when on all four's they move at 40ft?

Hmm... A +10 bonus to speed while running sounds about 0.5 points. Especially if they need empty hands.

A few notes:

* +2 (specific)/-2 (specific) attribute modifier is only [1.0]
* Small size is only [1.0]
* Reviled is only [-1.0]
* Achillies heel (flash) is an interesting idea, but probably not enough to qualify as a drawback on it's own. Its not nearly as debilitating as light sensitivity which is only [-0.5]
* You might give them a free crafting focus instead of enlightened crafting. That should work to encourage them to go that direction without making them superior craftsmen. This is probably the weakest point for justification and could be dropped.
* Sounds like you might want sure footing for the quadruped movement mode~

[1.0] Sure-footed: Your encumbrance loads are increased by 50% and when you run, your move multiplier is increased by 1 (typically to x 5).

Overall its a bit too ladden with effects for my taste. I'd try to streamline it down to slightly fewer features that convey the most important effects, positive and negative.

Catgirl = Custom species
I would be inclined to just reskin Saurians, replacing tail slap with claw and cold blooded with a +2 to climb and fall checks.

Ok so some of the things on the list for costs are incorrect then, or I misread them.  Thank you.  Smiley

I like the Sure footedness, its neat.

Some of the other races in the book have a lot of equal number of effects, both positive and negatory like, so I figure why not my disliked Ratlings.

I'll keep working on it.  Thanks for the feedback so far.  Smiley

On this thing posted in the wiki, it has Reviled -10 and Reviled -5.  Reviled -10 is 1.5 and Reviled -5 is 1.0 for costs... is this wrong?  Same for Small size, it lists it as 1.5 for cost, not 1.0.

Ok, I reread what Light Sensitivity meant, that seems to be more fitting.  So I'll change that.

How would Crafting Focus look on the Race stat features and how much would it cost?

Crafty hasn't released the real numbers for Origin creation, so what's in the Wiki is reverse engineered.

Morgenstern wrote most if not all (as far as I know, apologies to Alex or Pat if I'm wrong) of those rules, however.

Go with his values over the wiki.

On this thing posted in the wiki, it has Reviled -10 and Reviled -5.  Reviled -10 is 1.5 and Reviled -5 is 1.0 for costs... is this wrong?  Same for Small size, it lists it as 1.5 for cost, not 1.0.

The points for similar abilities don't always scale in a logical manner. There may be some underlying algebra behind it, but I haven't 'found x' since high school, so I just accept it for what it is Smiley

I think I'm going to make them Medium size, and then give them an Improved Scent ability for Notice and Awareness checks using scent, and get rid of the running on all fours aspect I thought of.  When I picture them, I keep picturing a more nomadic race, living more outside of society and yet an intricate part of it.  I keep picturing Skaven from Warhammer, only not as evil.  Scavangers of the world is how I'm picturing them.

What would be the points cost for having Attribute modifiers be +2 Specific, +2 Specific, -2 Specific???  I'm just curious.

There is a thread with a range of attribute modifiers and their design points in the license to improvise forum. Most of the home-brew mechanics discussion goes on over there Smiley.

Yea I kind of found that thread after I posted this one... Smiley

Its like there's two threads that cover a lot of home made things that people seem to post on.  I got confused.

Would I post my homemade stuff over there?  I did repost my ratling race over there in a thread over there because I thought it would be a better space.  There seems to be some overlap some with this FC forum and the License to Improvise thread forum.
