Damn unfortunate....

Latest Remake: Firestarter

Hopefully they'll expand on the Shop. I was partial to the organization - for reasons that should be obvious to the SFA fans out there. Wink

Yes, Pat, I'd like to see them expand on The Shop as well... just because. I always thought it was interesting that King created such an organization and I'd like to know more about it.

Hmm, I wonder how well RDJ and Guy Ritchie have been together on the Sherlock Holmes set. That might work.

For what it's worth - they went to UFC 120 together, with Jude Law, back in October and I know I wouldn't want to hang out for 3+ hours with a boss I didn't like.

Still kinda bummed about a Favreau-less Ironman 3 though, I just hope they find a good director who can make the third film both fresh and innovative and not seem like an origin-tale-free reboot.

I honestly do not believe would be looking to do a reboot on Iron Man.

Sorry, I should have been clearer.  What I meant was a film that feels different enough that it might as well be a seperate entity to the other two.

I know there will be differences with Favreau's departure. The question becomes how much more of a hold will Marvel have on the picture without him there.

I just got back from a midnight showing of Tron: Legacy.
This was a very smart film. The actors put on great, emotional performances. This is not a movie that was made to show off it's special effects. There's a real heart and some good philosophical questions being discussed in this film.
Everyone needs to see this movie.

Nice to know it will be more than just special effects and actually has a story.

I just got back from it myself and totally agree - fantastic film, even for those who aren't fans of the original.  I went with my Mum, who hadn't seen the original and isn't into SciFi and she loved it.  Well paced, brilliantly scored [I truly hope Daft Punk do some more film work], and with legitimate heart.  I also saw the 2d version, but I didn't notice any shots that seemed to exist just because of 3d, which is also good.

I have only one complaint about the film, and it's slightly spoiler-ish of the first 5-10 minutes:

Still, if that's my single beef with the film, and it is only in a few minutes out of the >2hr running time, then I'm a very happy consumer.  I just wish I could have gotten one of the glow in the dark Tron cups my cinema had, but I didn't have $20 for the combo with popcorn, and they weren't sold seperatedly.

I wonder if Chuck's next episode will have something about Tron: Legacy in it?

George Clooney and Sandra Bullock cast in Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity

Paul International Trailer

...and Steve, Nik, and I just finished up watching the Tron 20th Anniversary disc set, so we're primed and pumped for Legacy tomorrow (we decided to make a day of it in the city after catching an afternoon showing at the Metreon IMAX in 3D). I've managed to keep my expectations relatively low, which is remarkable given that Tron was the first movie I ever saw in a walk-in theater (we only had drive-ins near us for the first decade or so), and that the first movie was such a turning point in my life that I based my college prep on a career in computer science.

This is something that would definitely be worthwhile seeing in 3D

This sounds like it would an excellent film. Cuaron certainly knows how to do dark and dangerous.
