Much as I love Aaron Eckhart, I'm going to have to count both of these as positives.

Right there with you brother. I'm pretty excited by the prospect of a Nolan-helmed Batman film (the last, apparently) with a male-female dynamic that isn't a complete wash.

It seems the latest rumour floating around is that Tom Hardy will play Dr Hugo Strange.  I haven't even heard of the character, possibly because I'm not a big DC reader, but after doing some googling it seems an interesting choice.  I wonder how it'll affect other potential villians and the overall plot of the film?

Of course part of me wants to know who the villians will be, the rest of me doesn't even want to see a trailer before the cinematic release - Chris Nolan has become one of a few directors whose work I will happily watch without any information at all.

My close friend and former colleague Rob Vaux recently interviewed, well, practically everyone involved in Tron: Legacy. You can find podcasts of his interviews here.

Jon Favreaux Talks Iron Man 3: As expected, it'll most likely be a capstone for the whole Marvel franchise to date.

According to Wikipedia he is a Master of Psychology, so that fits into the Nolan-verse vision of Batman. Having him try and auction off Batman's identity to other supervillains might be a bit much, but I'm sure they can come up with an interesting angle.

The Dredd vehicles are disappointingly modern; one gets the feeling they're setting it a generation or two earlier than the comics, just after the rise of the Judge system. I am however pleased that they've changed their minds and made the psi judge Anderson instead of an original character like it was originally reported

Yeah, those vehicles don't fill me with confidence.

On the other hand, what's up with Space Battleship Yamato? Where do I find more updated Star Blazers goodness?

There was a great series in the "Untold Legends of the Batman" that featured Hugo Strange as the main rival called "Prey" that may or may not be the inspiration for Nolan's newest entry in the Bat-verse.

I would say 80+% of Batman's villians have been pyschological.
