And with that, the deal is closed.  Zooey Deschanel + Natalie Portman sounds suspeciously like several dreams I've had...

Well, I got a similar, if tv series related, event last night with Yvonne Strahovski and Summer Glau on Chuck... *sigh*

Are people not reading this thread, because the Green Lantern & B:LA trailers were posted 1 & 2 pages ago respectively.

James Bond and Indiana Jones in the same movie playing wild west folks. Oh HELLS yes!

It also gives me some fun ideas for magic items in FC. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from a funky magic item.

Steven Soderbergh directing a period Man From U.N.C.L.E. with Clooney at the helm

...and in far less exciting (and in many ways insulting) news, Zemeckis may be re-lensing The Wizard of Oz - directly from the original 1939 shooting script. Oi.

The first idea seems entirely doable. Zemeckis is pursuiing a cringe worthy idea that critics will shred if done poorly in the slightest.

In case you don't like watching them on youtube, I just watched The Mechanic, Cowboys & Aliens, Battle Los Angeles, and the Green Lantern on www.traileraddict.com

It is easier for since they don't take so much time to download and watch. Of the four listed, Battle Los Angeles is easily the most avoidable schlock looking. My concern with the Mechanic is that it may end being more Transporter 4 than having an actual storyline & plot. While it is nice to see Sutherland (the man's a workaholic), having Ben Foster is saying something as he has yet to make bad choice on film roles and is always compelling as evidence I offer up the Western with Russell Crowe (my brain farted but I remember Yuma is the title) and the film Alpha Dog where he plays a methhead with anger issues. He was also in Thomas Jane's Punisher as Spackler Dave.

Coyboys and Aliens looks very good and I think it has been 30+ years since Harrison Ford has done a Western. As for the Green Lantern, the second half of the trailer looked teaser more than anything. They demonstrated the origin but the rest was just more unrelated images.

Not sure if this has been posted before I don't recall seeing it, but it looks freakin' hilarious. It's possibly a NSFW trailer about a R rated fantasy comedy with Danny McBride, James Franco, and Natalie Portman (she's in a thong in the trailer for a moment)

Oh, I think this will bomb

Not to mention that I lost count of all the 'homages' to other much better fantasy films

I think that's the point (the homages not the bombing).

Yeah... I'm afraid all the best bits were in the trailer. It may be a wait-for-the-video for me.

I'll see it at the cinema, if only for Natalie Portman in a medieval g-string*.

* Because a thong is a kind of footware.

It could be the bill and ted of fantasy ;p
I wonder if she wears chaimail bikinis too

...having Ben Foster is saying something as he has yet to make bad choice on film roles...

What about X-Men 3 where he spent more time flying from San Francisco to New York and back again than anything else.
