Okay, so we're not quite there yet, but the new season announcements have started to come in.

The first I've seen could be good news for CBS:

Quote from: tvguide.com
CBS has greenlighted an update of Hawaii Five-O, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci -- co-creators and executive producers of Fringe -- co-wrote the story for the pilot with CSI: NY executive producer Peter Lenkov, the trade paper reported. Lenkov wrote the script under their supervision. All three are executive producing.

The classic CBS procedural ran from 1968 to '80. Its trademarks: the opening music and the "Book 'em, Danno" closing line. The original series centered on an elite branch of the Hawaii State Police headed by Steve McGarrett (Jack Lord) and answerable only to the governor.

Kurtzman and Orci wrote last year's J.J. Abrams-directed blockbuster Star Trek reboot. Their feature writing credits also include the two Transformers movies and Mission: Impossible III.

That should be a nice boost for Hawaii now that Lost has wrapped production.

Imagine Teams Up With Roddenberry Productions to Revisit The Questor Tapes: I remember seeing this pilot in reruns and loving it. Of course, I was two when it debuted and probably saw it before the age of reason. Wink

Conan O'Brien has confirmed that his last show will air this Friday (with Tom Hanks, Will Ferrell, and Neil Young as guests). He may be back on the air as early as September, provided he gets picked up by one of the other networks.

My missus finally got to see Robot Chicken for the first time late last year (when they came out for a local con). She was iffy at first, but soon got into it. I think the Star Wars specials helped with that.

O.o

I think it would work, if the show didn't rehash the plotlines of the original.

Quote
As part of a continuing strategy to expand its slate of original programming, TNT has given the greenlight to three new original series: a bold alien-invasion series from DreamWorks Television and Steven Spielberg that stars Noah Wyle (ER, TNT’s The Librarian movies); DELTA BLUES (working title), an offbeat series starring Jason Lee (My Name Is Earl) and Alfre Woodard (Three Rivers) and produced for TNT by George Clooney and Grant Heslov’s Smokehouse Pictures and Warner Horizon Television; and RIZZOLI & ISLES (working title), a crime drama starring Angie Harmon (Law & Order, Women’s Murder Club) and Sasha Alexander (NCIS), based on Tess Gerritsen’s popular mystery novels and produced for TNT by Warner Horizon Television and Ostar Productions.

TNT’s announcement brings to 10 the total number of original series currently on the TNT slate.  “We’re very happy with the quality and performance of our original programming, and we’re excited to be expanding our horizons with these excellent new shows,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM).  “These three series – ranging from science-fiction to a quirky drama to a gripping crime procedural – are wide ranging in their appeal and subject matter.  They’re rich in character, with great performances and engaging stories.  And with their emphasis on relatable, everyday heroes, they’re a great fit with our lineup.”

TNT has ordered 10 episodes of each of the three new series, with plans to have DELTA BLUES and RIZZOLI & ISLES premiere in 2010 and the untitled alien-invasion series debut in 2011.  TNT’s announcement comes on the heels of the network ordering a second season of its acclaimed hit series MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE.  Also returning are THE CLOSER, starring Kyra Sedgwick, which will be enjoying its sixth season, and SAVING GRACE, starring Holly Hunter, which will wrap up its third season this year with nine final episodes.  HAWTHORNE, starring Jada Pinkett Smith, and DARK BLUE, starring Dylan McDermott, both return for their second seasons.  TNT has also ordered a third season of LEVERAGE, starring Timothy Hutton.  The network is currently airing SOUTHLAND, with new episodes set to begin in March.

Heard about Push just the other day but I think it is awesome for Joss. I always thought he would do well with the opportunity of FX or USA. Both ideas have tremendous merit as far as I'm concerned.

The pilot and premire have aired here.

It's Fox jumping on the Burn Notice/Leverage/White Color ban dwagon, but it is fun. Light entertainment with some serious potential.

I give it another month before Fox screws it up.

Thanks for the tip, hermano. I've grown so accustomed to buying everything on (imported) dvd/blu-ray, I no longer have no idea what's actually on TV.
